I posted this morning in regards to figuring out how to book, someone threw out there, why not a split stay? Even DS20 mentioned it last night. So I've been thinking about this ALL day! We plan on going the beginning of August of 2014.

What would you do??

Would you stay at a value and then go to a deluxe? Or would you stay at a value and then go to a mod? If I go deluxe, I'm thinking Pop to BC. If I go mod, then Pop to POR.

With that said...

We've never stayed a Deluxe and would love the chance to. We will have the Disney dining plan as it will be cheaper for us to do that than pay OOP for food. In regards to tickets, could we just purchase a day ticket with each package and then just buy what we need additionally through Undercover Tourist? Is that possible? Or is that just too much work?

This is with having NO discounts. If discounts come out, what are the chances that it will totally fubar my plans? Will those new bands just cause more hassle than it's worth with split stays? If I do have those bands, would I be able to add the tickets from UCT onto it?

I know, I know... lots of questions.

TIA for the answers... I know I'll find them here

It's a waste of money. It doesn't make sense to spend +-$100 per person for package tickets, then get maybe 5% discount on authorized reseller tickets. It's a better value to just buy all the days you need with your package.

I would do Pop, then a deluxe. For the tickets, I would either buy length of stay tickets from UT and do both Pop and your deluxe as room only bookings.

Or, if you want to get a package (like for the 6 month 0% apr you get from the Disney Visa) then book your tickets with the first resort for the entire length of stay, and just have the deluxe resort as room only.

We don't do the dining plan, but if you want to use it, that's really the only hiccup. If you do, then book Pop as a package with length of stay tickets and your dining plan. Then pay OOP while you're at the deluxe resort.

It really doesn't make financial sense to buy 1 day tickets for each of your resort stays. Those are the most expensive tickets by far. You will come out much more ahead if you just buy the tickets for your entire length of stay in the same place--either UT or Disney.

Clear as mud? ;)

There's no point in purchasing additional tickets from UCT because DW tickets are front loaded so it's better to add enough days to cover your entire vacation to the one day tickets from the first resort package. If you get the dining plan at the second resort as well, save those tickets for a future visit. As long as you don't use them, they will not expire.
