Split stay with r/o and a package...

We have a package booked for July at WL and can't wait. Unfortunately we had to cancel our fall trip so now I'm thinking about how to maximize this visit to hold us over until we can return in the spring. I don't know if I can wait that long!!

Anyway... I was just thinking about adding on a few days at POFQ, our favorite mod. Everyone seems to recommend saving the deluxe for last in a split stay, so I was thinking about adding on a few days in the front at POFQ.

Thing is, we have a package with tickets and dining at WL. I don't mind not having DDP for a few days, because I have a DDE card that's begging to be broken in. BUT - and this is a big but - what about tickets?! Is there anything I can do about that? Our package has 1 day base tix that I was planning to upgrade at WDW. If we bought tickets at POFQ, would there be any way to combine them with the ones we'd get at WL check in?

Honestly, I have a feeling the answer is no. I'm just hoping someone knows something that I don't! But unfortunately, if we have to buy separate tickets, we might as well just add days at WL.

I'm assuming you have APs because you said you have the DDE and you're not in FL, but I don't know if that's right.

Anyhow, how about starting your package at POFQ instead ? You'd get your tickets at the beginning of your stay so you can upgrade them, and the DDP during your POFQ stay.
Then book WL room-only and use your DDE for dining.

That's pretty much what I did when the AP rates came out, we were supposed to end our stay at the Poly and now we're starting there instead.(But we just dropped the DDP altogether.)

I have an AP, but no rates were out so went with with a AAA package to get dining. So I'll have a ticket, but I'll need to upgrade 1 day base tickets we have with the package for DD and Grandma.

Starting the package at POFQ is a great idea, but unfortunately we'll be at WL much longer - 7 or 8 nights at WL opposed to 2 or 3 at POFQ - so we need the DDP much more for the long stay.

I'm thinking about doing POFQ last. We've stayed there before and loved it, so I hope it wouldn't be too much of a downer to move there after a week at WL. But, DD is so in love with WL that anything else might be a downer.

POFQ is a great resort or maybe check to see if they have availability at the Epcot resorts with AP discount ? In any case, you'd still be at DISNEY

Normally I would also recommend changing from the moderate resort to the deluxe, but since you have stayed at both already I dont think the order is that important. You already know what to expect so I think you are ok switching from the WL to POFQ.
