Split stay with Magical Express

Hi All,

My friend won a trip to Walt Disney World and we're headed there October 13th - October 17th. We'll be staying at the Yacht Club on the concierge level until the 17th. What I'd like to do is stay that Friday night at Pop Century and leave Saturday morning on the 18th so we don't lose Friday as a travel day.

That being said, I've stayed on site multiple times but never done a split stay. How will we communicate needing to get picked up at Pop Century on the 18th versus Yacht Club on the 17th?

The initial stay is being booked through the company awarding the prizes. Sadly I can't find any value resort available from the 17th-18th on the official Walt Disney World website, however Expedia has rooms available - am I losing the option to use Magical Express when I go through them?

Sorry for so many questions but I appreciate any help offered, thanks in advance!

No, you do not lose Magical Express.

Make or change your DME reservation back to the airport after you get there. Deadline is morning of the day before you leave which would be the day you check out of the first resort. (Shorter notice possible in the event of last minute flight changes although you stand a chance of an unusually early bus if the sweet spot bus was fully booked.)

Now you will need the bus time confirmation in hand on the day before the day you leave. It may be necessary to report to the second (one night stand) resort instead of trying to make rope drop at a park or to do a siesta at the second resort to fetch that paper.

We did similar on our last trip. We checked in at resort, and made sure we confirmed our pick up time.

If you look on the resort page, scroll down to the "fine print" section. It's labelled fine print. It's not actually in fine print. Actually where it says "fine print" it's actually pretty big!

Guests must pre-book Disney's Magical Express, a complimentary transfer from the Orlando airport to the hotel. Visit www.disneysmagicalexpress.com/USA for registration.

So you just arrange incoming DME for the prize stay on the phone or with the TA, then you arrange outgoing DME through that link. Super-easy.
