Split Stay & Refillable Mugs

Sorry if this has been asked before, but our trip in December will be our first split-stay and I am wondering if I can bring my refillable mug from POP to use at BWV for the remainder of the trip. Is this a no-no?

Also, early this year I had seen news floating around that this year's mugs were not resort-specific, meaning I could fill it up at any resort I wanted, but in the years past when I have gone to WDW this hasn't been the case. Which one is it?

Answers to either/both of these questions would be greatly appreciated!!

Since your resort stays are all part of the same vacation, I think you're staying within the spirit of the mug program and should re-use your mugs at your second resort.

And, yes, they are generic now and no longer resort specific.

Split stays is one of the reasons that WDW started selling a generic mug design at the resorts.

I thought it was just because having one generic mug would be more cost effective for Disney .....

Thanks for the replies everyone! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I definitely don't want to rip off WDW (no matter how much they might rip me off on other things, but I digress.....), so even though we will be going in October with the QSDP and getting a refillable mug included in the DDP, I will purchase another one for DH and I when we go in December. I feel like it's the most honest thing to do.

Thanks again, glad to see what we won't have to buy two separate mugs during our Christmas trip for our stays at POP and BWV.

Just be aware that refill mug usage at BW is tough. You can refill at the bakery, pool area, BelleVue room (I think)...but you don't get the mug refilled. They need to see the mug (so you have to bring 'em with you), then they will fill a paper cup with your beverage. You can then put it in the refill mug if you want. That's the one thing I don't like about BW...no beverage stations to refill at.

Thanks for the heads up. That seems weird, but I'm still okay with that!! We will be doing a lot of resort touring since we'll be there in December and want to see the decorations, and if it's allowed to refill the mugs at any hotel now---that alone will make it worth the price for us.

Are there any other resorts that don't have a fill-up station?? We'll mostly be touring the deluxes, but may pop into some moderates to see their decorations too.

Which seemed really stupid to me, because I've seen people go in the bakery, get a few cups of coffee, come out, hand their mugs to another couple who walk in and get a couple of cups of pop. They need to get a beverage station at the BW.

Yes that's also another reason for WDW switching to them.

We were there in February and our mugs were generic with Disney characters, no resort identifier. We ate at several resorts and noticed people around each resort had mugs just like ours, so I'm thinking they are all the same now.

The only resort with "different" mugs is Coronado Springs. They still have a resort-specific mug.
