Hello everyone,
We are thinking of planning a trip to Disney in October and had a question about split stays. We will stay at one resort for a few days, then leave Disney for a few days to got to Sanibel and then come back to Disney, to another resort.
So my question is about the memory maker and refillable mugs. From what I researched on Disboards, I believe the memory maker will be fine and we only need to purchase it once. Correct me if I am wrong.

But how about the refillable mugs, can we pay once and use them both times at Disney or do we have to buy the mugs twice?

Thanks!

Your memory maker will work however you will need to purchase a separate mug for each resort. They are unique to each resort.

We did a split stay over Christmas and had no issues with our memory maker but you will need to link your magic bands and memory maker in your MDE.

We were there in Sept. 2014 for 2 weeks. Did a stay at ASMu for the first week and AKL the 2nd week. Both memory maker and refillable mugs worked fine. I had 2 sets of magic bands and the memory maker was not affected; I could use either magic band. Also the new refillable mugs can be filled at any resort. We got length of stay mugs and they were valid for 14 days; and we could fill them up at any resort.

Can I save my mug when I get home and bring it back to use on all my subsequent Disney trips?
No. Mugs are for the specific number of days that you purchase.

I might be wrong, but I think your doing a non-continuous split stay might be an issue. Your length of stay mug should technically end with the end of your first stay since you are then leaving Disney to stay elsewhere. Wouldn't hurt to ask when you get there.

Mugs are purchased by how long you want them and the signs state ?1day, 2 day, 3 day and then "length of stay" (not sure the exact structure, it might be 2 day, 3 day, 4, etc but you get the idea). Length of stay seems to actually mean 14 days, as that's what mine were, and what I always see reported here. They are good at all resorts (so even if spend a day visiting resorts you can bring & fill your mug everywhere - this is a change from past mugs before the rfid)

Your memory maker will also still be fine for both parts of your trip.

I think length of stay mugs last 14 days, not your actual length of stay.

Was just there 1/15 thru 1/20 and the mug date when I refilled was good thru 1/29 so it's still good now. Anyone want to buy it? Oh I bet that comment with come with a few responses.

Length of stay is 14 days.

Ever since they put the chips in and came up with the 14 day thing, you can use the mug at ANY resort. It's totally and completely Disney-legal.

And it doesn't matter at all where you go in between those 14 days.

Closing as the refillable mug questions/comments are located in Resorts board :)
