Split Stay Question - What would you do?

We have a split stay coming up in May. We have the first 4 days at BCV and the last 3 days at OKW. On "moving day", my plan was to pack my bags, call bell services to transfer my bags, go to check in at OKW (we have annual passes, but may need our room keys for DDP), and then go to the parks until 3 or 4 pm. We will have a car, but I figured I'd let Bell Services move my bags - I will be by myself with 2 sons (4 yrs. and 7 yrs.).
What would you do (or have done) with a split stay?

Hi, it's only DH and myself, but we've always taken our bags with us, gone to the new resort, and then if we're lucky, we have them if our room is ready when we check in. With your boys, I can understand a reluctance to do more work. We don't mind leaving our things in the trunk of the car if the room isn't ready, and that means we don't have refrigerated things.

Have fun! We have a split BCV/BWV stay coming in June.

I would also put the bags in the trunk and drive over to OKW. Maybe the room will be ready, but if not - when you do get in you'll have your bags right away. Let the sons help! Relying on bell services might mean you're left waiting & waiting for your bags to be brought over.

Will bell services bring the bags to the room? I figured if I was going to have to climb steps, I would rather bell services do it with all our stuff. Also, I'm planning on packing 3 inner tubes that I will blow up and us at SAB and bring with me to OKW. Does bell services usually take a long time? They were very quick at VWL. Would be it a lot longer since OKW is more spread out? Maybe I should have BCV bell services put them in the trunk.

I don't know a time line, but if the things are in the car, you can give it directly to Bell Services at OKW.

I personally would not move more than once in a 7 day period.

There are too many variables. It's all good when you are in the planning phase, but when you are in the heart of your vacation, you may feel differently with having to pack, repack, check bags, wait/worry about bags until they arrive, waiting for room to be ready, etc. I know with 2 boys and a Dh, I end up being the one to make sure we have everything and that everything is packed.

Disney does make it easier, but nothing is as easy as staying put and having a Disney Day:goodvibes

We've always had Disney transfer our stuff. It's really easy but your bags can get to the new resort as late as 3PM or so. They won't bring your bags to your new room until you are there. You will keep your old room ID until you check into your new resort so if DDP or park tickets are linked, there's no problem.

If you don't need your bags right away, I say let Disney transfer them. Of the more-times-than-I-can-remember I've done this, I've only had a problem once and that was at WL this month. Their bell services had problems at both ends of the stay. But Pop, CBR, SSR, GF, AKL, YC, never had any problems with luggage transfers. Your plan sounds just like what we do...go check in really quickly and get on with our day somewhere else, come back and "settle in" later.
