Split Stay or No - Last trip for a while

We have our first split stay coming up this summer and I'm nervous and excited about it. Hope all goes smoothly

I love split stays. Disney has never failed me on our previous split stays. It does take more transportation planning on your part but it's worth it if you are willing to pack/unpack/re-pack/re-unpack!

I also love split stays, plus AKV is a great resort! If your kids love animals they will have a great time there!

We love split stays, and have done them the last several trips.
There are lots of ways to make it simple, the best-I think- is to pack a suitcase for each resort, and never open the 2nd one until you get to the 2nd resort. So you really only need to pack up toiletries and chargers, etc. It's very simple!

After my last stay I became a big lover of split stays. Sure it's inconvenient to pack everything and move, but if you plan your park days depending on resort, time lost packing is gained in time not spent on buses. BLT is great to walk to the MK (and a bit less so to Epcot via monorail), but the bus to the other parks takes forever.

I am the Queen of splits and I AM SO OVER IT. LOL I am at the point where I just want to STAY PUT. I don't like it anymore but sometimes it is necessary depending on when we go. If you are going to split 4 nights at both resorts or 5/4 then I say go for it. Our best split was 8 at OKW and 5 at BCV. We have done 3 way splits at Disney and ONCE we split twice at Disney then went to Vera and split there between the DVC and the Inn rooms. DON'T EVER DO THAT.

We are looking at booking an identical split stay :). I am hoping we will get the best of two worlds - a relaxing stay at AKL enjoying the resort atmosphere, followed by convenience to two parks from BLT. We'll focus on AK and HS in the first part of our trip, so that the second part will have easy transport.

We did a 10 night split stay last year, 4 nights AKL and 5 nights BLT. It was really nice to have a change of scenery in the middle of our trip. We planned our park days around which resort we were staying at.
The day of our move we woke early and drove to BLT to drop off our luggage. We then took the monorail to Epcot for the day. We received a text around noon that our room was ready. We left Epcot around 4 and went back to BLT to check-in and relax for the evening. It was great!

I will say I would not do another split unless I was staying 7+ nights.

We just did a very similar split stay at the end of March with 3-nights in a savanah view at AKL follwed by a 6-night lake view at Bay Lake. Just my 0.02 but would have preferred to have stayed the entire stay at BLT. Great fun, but not a fan of moving, and somehow made the trip feel shorter.
