Split Stay Luggage Question

Hi folks! I need some luggage advice about our upcoming split stay. DD6 and I are arriving Thursday for one night at POFQ. The rest of our party arrives on Friday and we will then join them at the campsites at FW.

Because we have to check out of POFQ by 11AM on Friday, I'm wondering what we should do with our luggage while we are touring the parks on Friday. My name is on the ressie at POFQ, but the ressie at FW is under my mom's name. Will they transfer my bags for me? (I know that there is baggage storage at both POFQ and FW.) Or will I need to go back to the baggage stand at POFQ to retrieve our stuff?

We should only have carry-on luggage, and not much of it.

Any suggestions?

I don't know this for sure, but I believe you will have no problem getting your luggage transferred even though the names are different on the ressies.

Yes, Goofy4 is correct. Bell services will hold your luggage when you check out of POFQ and transfer it to FW. They move the bags mid to late afternoon so if you will need anything during the day, be sure to keep it with you.

When you fill out your claim ticket, I would put your Mom's name that way when it arrives at the new resort they will know where to take it. I agree with cluvsdisney and take anything you might need with you. We switched resorts and didn't get our luggage until about 6pm.

We transferred our luggage from ASMo to VWL a few years ago. My advice:::: 1) Take pictures of your bags; and 2) mark your bags with some very conspicuous marker, like neon pink duct tape.

They didn't technically 'lose' our luggage... it was right where it was supposed to be--- BUT (this gets a little complicated)--- when the CM picked up our bags in our room, they had already coded our room for the next family checking in later that day. So somehow, he pulled THEIR name instead of ours, and that was the name that he put on all our bags. So they were sitting right in the baggage hold area at VWL, but because the official WDW transfer tags said "JONES" on them, they kept walking right past them. It was almost funny (not really), because I repeatedly described our most unique pieces: a green hard-sided Samsonite and a bright red leather bowling-bag style tote. Eventually, one CM said, "It's kind of a funny coincidence that this pile of luggage marked JONES that's been sitting here unclaimed all day has a green hard-sided Samsonite AND a bright red leather bowling-bag style tote...."

Anyway, technically they did a very good job of getting our luggage form one place to another quickly...but when we do our split stay next year, I'll be making smiley faces on all my suitcases with pink duct tape, and taking pictures of every bag.
