Booked a split stay BC and Poly, but have to make a change. When you book a split stay of two deluxes (Epcot area then MK area), do you make it even (for ex 4 nights and 4 nights)? Or do you book unevenly (such as 3 nights and 5 nights)? Is 3 nights 4 days enough to enjoy the BC? I want to be able to do DHS and Epcot from there, as well as enjoy the pool. The Poly we have stayed at so I know what to expect there and how much time I might need to do MK and AK. So many decisions!!!

If its somewhere Im not sure how much Id enjoy and somewhere I know Ill enjoy ill do less first and see how I like it (at BC) then most nights at the place I know I love (Poly). Then next trip if I loved BC Ill do that more.

This would depend on other plans for me. If the resorts are in different areas, one on the monorail loop, and the other in the Epcot area lets say, it would depend on if the trip was heavier on one park or another. If the trip was during Festival of the Arts, I'd put more days on the Epcot resort. If the trip was during the holidays, I'd lean more over to the MK resort. If you're dong a more balanced general trip, split the days evenly.

Probably more balanced over all, nothing special going on at our time of travel but MK area is my favorite place to be. We go to MK at least 4 days or part of 4 days. I will be spending more time in Epcot this way than I typically would devote to it. Although I am interested in doing that to some extent this time.

I do not think 3 nights is enough time to appreciate all that the BC and Epcot Resorts area has to offer. You need to remember that one of those days you will need to pack up and leave your room by 11 AM, leaving you "homeless" for several hours.
If you want to visit Epcot, DHS and do some time at SAB I do not think this is enough time

In your case, I'd split 3 and 5. Then, as someone posted above, if you end up loving the BC and Epcot area, next time you can book there for longer.

Personally, in our case, those used to be our 2 favorite resorts to split when our kids were younger. However, we loved the BC so much that we usually stayed there longer than Poly. Some trips we just stayed at BC exclusively, and we actually liked going into Epcot and working our way towards the front of the park and hopping on the monorail to MK. We had a double jogger back then, so we enjoyed finding ways to avoid the buses (lol).

This is my thought. Really looking to avoid the buses at this point with a cranky toddler in the stroller!!

If we had FPs and were in a rush to get to MK, then we'd take the bus there, but we always took the monorail back to Epcot afterward and really enjoyed the walk through Epcot to get back to BC. Our kids were usually knocked out in the jogger by then, so we'd take our time and stop along the way for a drink or snack. Also, at night, we enjoyed walking around the boardwalk and also Epcot countries. Such a fun/relaxing way to end the nights. Loved watching the fireworks from the bridge before entering Epcot, too.

As our likes/priorities changed, we started to prefer MK park as our favorite, so we started to lean more towards longer Poly stays and sometimes exclusive. Eventually, we tried GF and now we love it there too!

Yes, we have done POLY and GF last year. We prefer the POLY. I have stayed in the CR as a kid, but find the theming lacking right now that i Have children. We want to try the BC But our preference is MK, so that's why we are doing a split and not sure how to split it.

We love split stays!! I agree with some of the others, do your favorite resort 2nd, and give more days to that resort. When we do splits, we plan our FPs according to where we’re staying. For example, this summer we did a BC/Poly split. We did a week at BC and did Epcot and HS all week, with MK only for EMH. 2nd week at Poly, we did all MK, with AK sprinkled in. You don’t have to do exactly that, but definitely was nice and made traveling so much easier. Enjoy and good luck with your planning!

Yes, exactly what we do too!! It's the best of both worlds to split the stay like that.

I still agree to do the favorite resort last and give that more nights. :thumbsup2

Yes!! We’re doing it again this summer! I absolutely love split stays! DH hates repacking each time, but I love the change of scenery.
