We're thinking of doing a room only disount for the 2nd part of our trip and wondering what would be a better deal for our family? It's me, DH, and two sons ages 10 & 12.

I can either get $110 off of regular room w/discount or stay CL for about $42.00 more per night. I have all of my adr's, not doing any tours, don't really think I need any help with planning or childcare, soooooooo....that would only leave the convenience of some snax, etc. in the lounge. Or am I missing something else with the whole Club Level rooms???

Please help me figure this out????:confused3

For $42/day for CL at CR I would do it!

You'll get breakfast in the lounge-when I was there (Dec 06) they had Krispy Kreeme donuts!:thumbsup2 I found we could start our day quickly with the lounge breakfast-no need to order or wait in line to pay.

Snacks in the afternoon-again nice to be able to just grab something rather than standing in line to pay for it.

Hot appetizers at night along with wine & beer and then cordials with desserts later on. You can also ask for a beer (I didn't try wine?) earlier in the day too. At the Poly they would ask if you were going to the pool and put it in a plastic cup for you.

Great view from the concierge lounge balcony. It is nice to have someplace quiet to relax other than just your hotel room.

You have access to the lounge til midnight on your departure day so it is nice to have someplace to go when you no longer have your room.

I upgraded our rooms to CL at the GF. It's costing me $12 per night for the first part of our trip and $67 a night for the second part (I have a group rate for part of it and an AP rate for part). Anyway, I think for that price, the cost is worth it.

Even though we usually just do cereal or pastries in the mornings, we spend at least $20 on breakfast each day, and that'll be covered in the lounge. Then, we're not doing the DDP, so the snacks and desserts will save us some money there. And I am going to use the IPO to make dining reservations for us. Though I have no problem doing them myself, I thought I'll save myself from getting up really early to make Xmas ADRs and just let the CMs do it for me. Also, in most resorts, the CL rooms are in prime spots, so you'll probably have a nice location for your room.

For me, it's the sum of those pieces that made me decide to upgrade this year. Now I'm not sure I'd pay the rack rate for CL, but at the discounts I've got, the costs are worth it for my family of 5.

I don't understand. Is it $42 more for club level versus a regular discounted room? Can you use your discount for either a regular room or a club level room?

If it's simply a question of paying $42 to upgrade from a regular room to club level, I'd say it's worth it for breakfast alone. Four people for breakfast will cost you that anywhere.

But, I'm confused. You indicate you can EITHER get $110 discount on a regular room or pay $42 more for CL. Query: $42 more than what?

$42 over your discounted rate makes club level worth it. But club level is definitely not worth $152 more per night ($110 foregone discount plus $42 (total $152)).
