We are DVC member and are staying at the BCV for 4 nights. Are kids want to stay at the "volcano pool" meaning the Poly. My DH would rather stay at the BWV. I am on vacation so I could care less:goodvibes. Any thoughts? Has anyone gone from a resort to a DVC. I am also thinking of the room size and laundry.

Why not just take an afternoon break from MK and head over to the Poly to pool hop on the monorail. The kids get to try the pool and you and DH can relax. As far as BCV or BWV, I really can't comment because we are new members too and I haven't stayed at either. But, BCV has Stormalong bay and you can easily walk over to BWV to enjoy the fun atmosphere.:goodvibes

If your using points, keep in mind that the points for a room at the Poly can be double or more (depending on dates, view etc ) than BWV or BCV and you lose your laundry and kitchen. That's a pretty big difference just to use a pool that you could pool hop to.
Just my opinion.

IMO, once your kids enjoy the pool at BCV, they will forget the 'volcano pool' ever existed. :lmao:

BWV also have a much larger water slide than Poly.

Yea points vs cash is one thing, and up to 5 in a room at the POLY is OK but certainly smaller than a 1BR or whatever. I would say if you are staying in a BCV studio-then moving to the POLY will be fine. We never thought we would like the POLY but really enjoyed it, plus the monorail to MK for 1/2 the stay was great. Our fave weeks are a 4 day at BCV (sometimes BWV if BW View) then 3 or 4 at a MK resort (used to be VWL but lately BLT or POLY). Its all good regardless.

I don't personally want to use my points at the Poly either, as you don't get a lot for those points there, but I hope someday to stay there on cash using an annual pass discount code.

However until then I never thought of pool hopping over there, I usually stay at the BCV. Are there changing rooms nearby for guests who pool hop, or huge bathrooms? I guess I could wear my bathing suit under my clothes?

Heading to WDW in about 2 weeks and will be spending 4 nights at BWV on points and 2 nights at the Poly on cash with AP discount, which was $219/night. Have never stayed at the Poly but with the discount thought it would be as good a time as ever to give it a try....

Yes. There are changing rooms beneath the volcano water slide.

I would stay at the BCV the entire time and pool hop to BW and Polynesian.
