8 weeks to go today and I have a quick question

On arrival we have 2 nights booked at ASM (room only). After this we have 14 nights at SSR.

My question is will we be able to check out of ASMo about 730am and check in at SSR at around 8am, leave our luggage, collect our MYW tickets and head off for the day. We are planning a Universal day and I really dont want to spend the day hanging around the resort.

Also will our luggage be secure if we leave it at the resort as I dont really want to carry passports, t cheques etc with me

Any ideas or suggestions?

You should be able to check out that early, but may not be able to check in at SSR until the afternoon - depending on if your room is ready.
If you opt for express check-out you don't even have to check out of ASM - you will get a final invoice popped through you door either the night before you leave or early morning the day you leave.

You can arrange for bell services to transport your luggage to SSR for you. It will then be stored securely in bell services at SSR until your room is ready.
If you are worried about valuables have reception at SSR put them in a safe for you.

When we changed resorts a few years ago (POR to AKL), bell services at POR picked our cases up from our room and arranged for them to be delivered to AKL. We then spent the day in the parks and returned to AKL late afternoon. Once we had a room sorted we told bell services at AKL the room number and our cases were brought up to the room

last year I checked out of POp and my luggage was sent over to POFQ and we checked into POFQ around 6 in the evening, all straight forward.
Disneys so great.

I am hoping to do this as we have a 3 way split. Upon arrival we are staying at CBR for 3 nights, then moving on to POFQ the day before the wedding for 4 nights, then 7 nights at AKL. My question is this, I'm a bit concerned about my wedding dress. Should I just take my luggage over to POFQ myself and let Disney move it when moving to AKL? As it's the day before my wedding I don't want to have any lost luggage as I have loads of wedding stuff in the cases.

they will take your bags from ASM to SSR no problem,just contact bell services or you can take them yourself if you have a car and you leave with bell services.Regarding your TCs and passports when you go over to SSR and if room is not ready, they have safe deposit boxes behind frount desk(beter than lugging round parks)They have them at all resorts

We did a split stay last year and checked out the night before so we just left early to go to the second hotel. We were at the next hotel about 9.00 a.m. as we wanted to go to the parks afterwards and fortunately our room was available, although we would have just left our bags if it wasnt.

Quite simply, yes. As others have said, you can leave Disney to take care of your luggage. You can do pre-check in at SSR as early as you like. It's quite likely that your room won't be ready, but they'll give you a number to call later in the day to get your room number. Your "Keys to the Magic" (or whatever they're called) room keys/charging cards will be issued at pre-check in.
