Split Stay and MB

we are planning a split stay. i will have to get two reservations. when the second reservation arrives must we first check in to the second resort for our MB to activate or can we go straight to the parks and check in later. someone informed me that we must first check out of our first resort then check in to the second before our second reservation MB will work. TIA..staying at Poly then BC

You won't be able to get into your room at the second resort unless you go to the front desk of the first resort and check out. We have always gone to the second resort and put our stuff in the room and then gone to a park so I can't say if it is ok to just go to a park or if you have to go to the second resort first.

we split stay a lot. It really depends on what tickets you have - we have AP's, so we can merrily go to whatever park and just check into our next hotel when the time suits us. if you have multi day tickets linked to MDE for the whole of your day then just keep on going and check into your hotel when it suits. We have never had to physically check out, but we always use bell services to transfer our bags to the next hotel which might impact. Just remember, you're not guaranteed access to your next room til check in (I think thats 3pm hotels, 4pm DVC) so I would always suggest just getting on with your day.

If you use bell services to transfer your bags remember to hang on to anything you might need during your day, your bags will take a little while to make it over, mine have generally been there when I check in around 5, but I have heard that they can be later.

you will need to check in or ask for your room info to be texted to you (as relevant), but you will be able to use both sets of magic bands to access your room once you are checked in.
