I have my first split stay reserved for this fall. Staying at Animal Kingdom followed by the Cascade Cabins at Wilderness Lodge. What do they do with our luggage in the gap of time from checkout to check-in? Does bell services hold it? And what about getting the luggage to Wilderness Lodge?

Drop your luggage off at bell services (or call and have them pick it up from your room) at Animal Kingdom Lodge and ask them to transfer it to Wilderness Lodge. When your cabin is ready you call bell services and have them bring it right to your door!

Yes, they hold it and transfer it to your next resort. Double check if you have any perishables — they typically don’t do a transfer of anything that needs refrigerated. When we did a split stay, we brought our luggage over ourselves and bell services were perfectly wonderful. They stored our refrigerated items without a problem!

They will not move perishables (items that need to be refrigerated). It got to be too cumbersome with all the guests that wanted to move cold items.

If you have cold items follow the advice from @ChapterThree, and move your cold items to your new resort directly.

Adding on to OPs post...we're doing a split stay and it's a first for us where we will need move groceries and water. How do most people\ here pack up their non-perishable stuff, specifically open cases of bottled water? I think I'll bring some reusable shopping bags for the few things we'll move but curious how to move the water...more shopping bags??

We do split stays alot and we use yellow cab..$20.00 and we take our luggage with us. No more wondering when the our luggage will be delivered to our next resort.. I look at it this way, we are already spending $$$$ whats $20.00 more. Marla

I can’t say for certain (we’ve always driven our luggage over to the 2nd resort ourselves), but I would put any items not completely secured/sealed in reusable shopping bags. Even if it’s just out of courtesy for the staff, so the items don’t risk falling out in the transfer. You can always call ahead and/or ask bell services when you arrive at your first resort what the protocol is — but I’d recommend packing some extra reusable bags just in case. We had a big cooler with us filled with miscellaneous groceries, and our 2nd resort had no problem keeping that with our luggage when we dropped it off. So that could be an option too.

When I’ve had open water/gatorade to transfer, I either bought one of the Disney shopping bags at the gift shop and put it in there or told them on the phone and they brought up packing tape and taped it up.
Awesome! Thought of bringing some tape as well.
