We just booked our annual Disney trip for December 2017 and decided to book a split stay. My question is how does the dining plan work with split stays? When I called Disney to ask, the cast member informed me that our dining credits for the first "leg" of our stay would expire at midnight the day we check out of the first hotel. However, I read on the Disney mom's panel that they expire when you check into the second hotel. I'd be grateful for any clarifications from anyone who has used the dining plan recently for a split stay.

They expire at 11:59 the day you check out. It becomes more complex if you have DDP for both legs of your stay.

4 weeks ago we had the dp for the first part of our split stay. The day we checked out of the first hotel we ate at BOG for dinner (8:30pm ADR) and used our dining plan. Wayyyyy before dinner, we had already gotten our room text and we hung out in the room of our second hotel and we didn't have the dining plan for the second half. It definitely lasts until 11:59pm the night you check out :)

The reason it is so complex if you have a second DDP for the second stay is that the DDP credits for the second stay do not become active until after all credits for the first stay are used or it is 11:59 of check out day 1. So if you want to have a TS lunch (or dinner) on the first day of stay 2, but there are still 3 snack credits in your first account, your new credits will not be active yet
