i am having to a split stay for my December trip because there was “no room at the inn” when I went to add 1 night to my original reservation. If I do online check in for both resorts and have magic bands for both resorts can I charge to the room during the day of my move? I will be officially checked out one resort and check in at the other by online check in but do I have wait until 3:00 pm to start room charging at the second resort? I wasn’t planning on stopping by the second resort the morning of the split stay but can if need to since I will have a car. Should I have 2 magic bands or should I just get one for the entire stay?

Hi
We just completed a split stay at the beginning of July. We were able to charge to our 2nd stay before our room was ready using our Magic Band. They had already assigned a room to our name. It just wasn't ready for us to go into when we arrived at the resort. But I did go up to the desk to make sure our Magic Bands we're activated on their computers, which they were. We needed to turn off charging on our children's Magic Bands. That information had to be updated since each hotel has their own system. Also we all had 2 Magic Bands since we had 2 reservations. The Magic Bands were interchangeable. My one daughter selected her Magic Band based on her outfit for the day.

Exactly what PP said! we did a split in May, And received 2 sets of magic bands. Both were linked to our entire stay, so we literally chose our favorite color each day of the entire trip.

And no issues charging on the day you switch. At a certain time on checkout day, our card was charged with all the first stay’s charges, and then we received another charge to our cc on the day we left the second reservation. Not sure the exact time it switches over, but you should have no problem with charging on the day of the switch.

The bands are interchangeable, and don't help or hinder charging on the day of checkout/in. Do online checkin for the second stay especially, and that sets up the CC info for room charging, and it should work fine.

Both sets of bands will work for your entire stay, so you don't need to worry about which band to use. The easiest way to handle the children's Magic Bands is to keep the pin code a big secret. Then they can't charge to them. :)

The charges for your first resort will automatically charge to the credit card on file overnight, so that when you wake up on your check out day the bill has been paid. I think that all the charges that you make on your check in day for the second resort will go on the account for that stay. It will be seamless and you won't have to do anything. Disney will charge your credit card for all charges during your trip, even after you check out on your final day. :)

I would also keep checking for a night to open on your first stay so that you won't need two reservations.
