split reservation question

A good friend of mine needs some expert advice. He made reservations for a 3 day cruise with 4 days at Wilderness lodge after the cruise. He decided to add another day to their stay at Wilderness lodge but had to make a seperate reservation for that day. He was advised by Disney that they cannot guarantee that he would not have to switch rooms the last day. Apparently because the reservations are split.
Does anyone have any advice on how to minimize the potential of this happening ?

Tell them at checkin that you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room. With a 4 day lead time, they shouldn't have a problem in blocking you into the same room for 5 days. Make sure you have the reservation numbers with you.

Thanks for the tip.
I told him the likelyhood that it would be a problem was probably slim. He is very excited about the trip and wanted everything to go smoothly, obviously switching rooms would have been stressful.
