Split group up for ADR?

I have been stalking Coral Reef for an ADR for 6 with no luck. However, there are ADRs available for 4 and for 2 at the same time. Originally I had booked both after calling and being told we would prob. Eat separately figuring my MIL and FIL could eat separate from us (husband and two kids). Then I canceled bc... Well, I keep changing my mind on everything. So, what's your thoughts? Have you gotten two ressies and were able to eat together?

We usually travel with at least 6-8 people, and I always split mine up unless it's somewhere like Biergarten or Ohana, which seems more suited to larger parties. We get the reservations for the same time, or within 10-15 minutes of each other, and then when we check in, we request to sit together or nearby if possible. Sometimes we've had a to wait a few minutes longer (and I always tell them we don't mind waiting a bit) but in all the times we've traveled, we've always been seated together or at tables right next to one another. We have 7 this year, so I'm doing 4 and 3, and it's been way easier than trying to book for 7

We have had 2 ADR's and have been put at tables right next to each other. When you check in, mention to the host/hostess you are together, you might have to wait a bit longer, but in my experience, they try to accommodate. Good luck!

This is interesting to me..... We will be 2 families of 3 going this year. I'll be the one doing the ADR's in a couple of weeks. Is it better to try split ones? Say 3 and 3 or 4 and 2?

If we are traveling with a group of 6 or more, I try and get the ADR together first. Then, if I can't find one, I will call and split in to 2 ADR's. It hasn't happened to me often, I was even able to snag one at Crystal Palace for a group of 15 last March. Good luck!
