Planning our trip for July, and for the first time, we are going to venture to Universal for two nights before we head to WDW. Hubby and I both need an ECV, he is unable to walk or stand for long periods of time due to a back injury (he was in a building that collapsed, with him inside), and I have lupus.

We normally use Gold Mobility, and love them. But I'm curious to know what others do when they have a split stay? Should I have them deliver to the Universal Hotel, then pick it up, and get a new one when we arrive at the WDW hotel?

Gold will handle this wrll, they have for us before. We haven't done Universal, but I know they do. Just give them a call.

I can only say that I suspect that they will accommodate you I've had split stays at 2 different Disney hotels so they've dropped off at one hotel, picked up at another and things went smoothly Have another split planned for July at Kidani/VGF and I expect to be able to use Gold Mobility again!

I've done this, as well as drop of at the Dolphin and pick up at AKV. Also, use Gold Mobility and have never had issues... very well organized and accommodating!

For your Universal portion, be prepared to NOT be able to enter the cues at Universal rides in a ECV. Most of their ride cues make you change over to a wheel chair instead. Universal is not as ECV friendly as Disney unfortunately.

Very true. My grandfather had his personal scooter and they wouldn’t let him through. He transferred to a manual wheel chair and DH pushed him through the queue. Very annoying,

Yeah, they need to fix that, SeaWorld on the other hand was even more accommodating that Disney.

I messaged them online, and the reply I received said to go online and book the two rentals, and WE would be responsible for getting the ECVs from Universal to WDW!! I will call them Monday...I'm happy to pay a little extra for the extra pickup/dropoff, but figuring out how to get two ECVs from one resort to the other is a deal breaker for me :(
