Split baths are GREAT!! We usually have 4 people in the room and to be able to use the toilet or brush your teeth while someone else is showering is very helpful when trying to get up and out for an early excursion.
I thought the split baths were in most rooms in many of the various room categories at no extra cost. I think the cost is for square footage and views.
Definitely recommend the split bath.
Well that's what it looks like online but I did not find that with my 11B room. Still felt as tight as a split only difference I noticed was where the wall was in a split bath was the bathtub.
I would upgrade with 3 people. We upgraded to a 9C and now have a porthole and the split bath. It does make it easier when getting ready in the morning and evening.
We sailed this past June & had an 8A cabin (huge space, with 2 Portholes that you can sit in) which does not have the split bath. There were only 2 of us, while we missed the split bath, the extra room more than made up for for not having the split bath. On the other hand I'd pay the extra $250 to go from a 11A to a 10C & get the split bath (cabins are smaller than the 8As) even with 2 people.
We just spent 12 nights on the Magic with 2 adults and 2 kids (9 and 6) in an 11b (no split bath). It was fine. We figured we would rather spend the extra money on an additional excursion than on a split bathroom. We didn't have any issues but it all comes down to personal preference.
We have cruised with both ( 4 people) and didn't find any more of a problem than one might have in a hotel room with one bathroom. My vote is to save your money if that is the only reason.

I agree. I can see the advantage of an extra changing room for families, but I didn't like moving from one bathroom to the other for different "functions." If one of the split baths had a complete bathroom and the second just a sink - it would've been more useful.
