Just go back from WDW on Dec. 20th. We rented a house along the 192 in a subdivision called Indian Creek. Each day driving to and from the house we would pass Splendid China, never saw anyone going in or coming out and couldn't see too much activity through the bushes.

Is this place still open? Has anyone ever been there, if so what is it like?

Just curious!

Thanks,
Sandra

P.S. Does anyone know if there is much down the 192 heading west past the Splendid China dragon?

We rented a house down that way in 2002, plan to go back again in 2004. :hyper:
Never saw that much action near that park either. There is a few strip malls and a grocey store down the road then open spaces when we were there.

Did your place have the enclosed pool area, we thought that was great, come home from the parks and a quick dip in the pool every day.

If you don't want to stay at WDW then I think that the house option is the way to go, better than a condo or motel/hotel.::yes::

I just read on laughing place that SChina is closing for good. WE liked it but I dont think that you would go more than once.

Went to Splendid China a couple of years ago for the acrobat show and free dinner. I think it was $15.95. The show was great and well worth the money. The dinner was terrible but as I say the show was worth the money. Have never went through whole park but agree anytime you go by it seems dead. Have not heard that it is closed or closing but won't doubt it. It sure never went over like the hype it was given when being built.

I just logged onto Splendid China web site. It says that they regret but are closing operations effective Dec. 31, 2003 (today). So I guess if you have not been at it you missed it.
