Splash Mountain

My husband and I are in disagreement over taking our 4.5yo fearless DD on Splash Mountain. This is her first DW trip but she knows many of the classic rides (SM being one of them) and she wants to go on it. She is 41 inches so she meets the requirement, but she's light for that height (31 lbs.) My husband says it's no big deal since Disney makes the height requirement with safety in mind. I'm nervous about her being so light and going on the big drop. I know I'm probably being ridiculous. Anyone else have experience taking a child that JUST met the height requirement on SM? Did their bottom come up really far from the seat during that drop? If it was up to me alone, I may just say skip it this trip. But my husband is willing to take her and she wants to go, so now I'm just trying to calm my nerves about it. TIA!
She'll be fine. Mine went at 3 and my daughter was tiny....like 5%tile for weight. She'll be riding again this year at 10. She'll b fine, if it makes you feel better all 3 of you could ride together so you could be touching her the whole time.

Honestly, I was more concerned with DS flying out of the Barnstormer than Splash Mountain as he got more airtime on the Barnstormer. o_O I just kept my arm around him and he was fine and was ready to ride again right afterwards.

First trip to DD was when she was 3. Her Godmother, my sister, joined us and the first words out of her mouth was lets go on Splash Mountain. I was about to kill my sister because I read start slow easy rides and work up. Well once my darling sister described "Splashy" as it was so nicknamed we went. My DD on that trip road "Splashy" 10 times and since then every trip all she talks about is how she loves that ride.

I took two of my fearless girls on it when they were both 4 and just 40 inches. They are very skinny and petite and both did just fine. Have fun!

We let my almost-5 year old (at the time) ride Journey to Atlantis in San Diego - he barely made the height requirement and was 29 pounds. I was nervous, but he was fine! He actually cried when we had to get OFF the ride because he wanted to go again! He's my insane ride loving child. He rode Rock N Roller Coaster at age 7 and is the only one smiling in the picture - the rest of us are terrified! STUDIO_ROCKNRCOASTERRIDE_7201493013REDUCEDSIZE.jpeg

If she wants to do it, I would let her do it :-) My 4yo DD was too scared to do it...lol.
