Splash Mountain & the Train

Just back from Disneyland and noticed that the viewing windows for the train through Splash Mountain are blocked. Anyone know why?

Was there anything wrong with Splash mountain at the time or they were both running but just blocked?

As far as I know they are just blocked.

We rode the train twice through the mountain and could hear Splash but not see anything.

We rode Splash once and could see the windows were blocked with what looked like wood or wooden roman shades.

I wish I knew why that was blocked off, I'm now very curious!

Maybe a glass replacement?

The viewing windows were closed when I went in May, so I doubt it is just a glass replacement.

But I was just there in December, and the viewing windows were open!

The windows were closed in May because Splash was closed for refurbishment and they don't want people seeing inside the attraction when the "show" doesn't look good.

Was just coming to say that when I was there in May the windows were closed because it was down for refurbishment (I was super disappointed), but in December they were open.
