I am going to DW in May 2010 with my DH & 2 DS and I always wanted to go on Splash Mountain. My DH refuses to go on with me and my 2 DS who are in their late teens refuse to go on this ride too (scared of heights).

Can guests go on Splash Mountain solo? I don't want to really sit with strangers, I may scream or something. Do they strap you in or it doesn't need it? If I go solo, I don't want to be flying around on the seat either:rotfl:

Has anyone gone solo on this ride?

You are not strapped in on the ride.

You can ride without your family.

You may get "lucky" and have a row of the boat to yourself. Normally, the CMs fill every available seat. So, most likely you would be sitting next to someone.

Don't worry about screaming. There is only 1 BIG drop, and most riders scream during it.:scared1:

Yes you can ride alone...we have 3 of us that go & 1 has to sit alone-no big deal-yelling is what makes it fun!!! Only on the drop...:)

Every time I have been on alone, mostly because there were 3 of us, I have always had the row to myself, they never sat me with another person, however they may at times...especially during peak times.

I went for the 1st time by myself. We travel w/ young children so we are not able to ride the big rides together.
You will enjoy it. Although it would have been nice to share it with someone as it is quite a long ride.

When I was a single rider I always got my own row except I think in 2003 when they were trying out a single rider line.

You are not strapped in on the ride.
Part of the refurb is that they're adding lap bars to the logs, so there will be restraints when she goes.

You should definitely try it out - it's one of my favorites. And don't worry - everyone screams!

I've gone on it solo a few times and I've never had to sit with a stranger. Hopefully you can convince your sons to go with you once you're there! I'm the biggest baby when it comes to rides but I know I'll feel better once I get it over with and it goes by so fast.

My DD who is 15 refused to ride SM during our first two trips but on the most recent trip this December, she rode SM, TOT, and even Everest. She is the biggest chicken in the world and though she states she will not ever ride TOT or Everest again, she now loves SM and TM and is terrified of heights, lol.

I've ridden alone and it's great fun. Don't worry about the screaming at the end....it's part of the fun for everyone. I'm glad that you're going to do this. SM is a delightful attraction and I think you'll be happy that you went.
