Splash Mountain question

That's where I got it the worst as well. Except it almost came up neck high on me. It didn't just come from the sides, but over the top as well and landed in my lap. This was the first time we rode the ride and we rode in the morning when there was no line and there were just four of us in the log and we all sat in the first 4 seats. Little did I know what I just got in to :)

I noticed that when we rode in the morning we got much wetter than when we rode later in the day... My guess is it has something to do with the canals and reservoir being filled to capacity in the morning, and as water splashes about throughout the day the ride drains a small amount... just a thought

My niece (20) was in the very front when we rode SM, I was behind her, with 3 adults in the back of our log.
When we came down the very first little hill the water came up over the front of our very heavy boat and right into her lap. I couldn't stop laughing! She was wearing jeans and it looked like she pee'd her pants.
But after the final big drop she was completely soaked. I only got a little wet mainly from my seat being wet.

Good times...Good times....

DD, age 5, and I just rode this last week sitting side by side in the back of the log. She came off the ride with barely a drop on her, on the other hand, my shorts were completely soaked. I big glob of water came over the side and onto the seat beside me and soaked my rear end.

In the past, I have taken a hotel hand towel to put over DD's head or put her jacket on her to protect her. This time she was brave enough to get wet and got barely a drop. She loved it.

I just came back and didn't get wet.

Now, Grizzly River Run at California Adventure is a different story. I was completely soaked, through and through. And, my purse was soaked too - so much so that I was very worried about my camera. (It survived.)

Wow, I never really got that wet on Grizzly and I rode it 4 or 5 times, but each time I was on Splash, at the very least, my right leg and foot were soaked

The water seems to run higher in the spring/summer months on both of the "wet" rides IMO. Sometimes I got soaked inside Splash Mtn (before we even did the big drop), other times only mild splashes. Same thing on Grizzly. I rode it MANY times and did not get wet at all, other times I was drenched head to toe. I agree with the crocs suggestion. It was great to have those soaking wet feet dry quickly!

My Boyfriend and I are making our 1st trip to DL in December. I HAVE to ride SM as it is my FAVORITE ride in WDW. Now here's my question...I can totally see me being in the front with the little kids and my Boyfriend being the one all the way in the back because of our sizes. Will the CM's do that?! Or will my Boyfriend be able to be directly behind me??

Your boyfriend will be able to sit directly behind you. I have never seen them break a party up, they ask you how many in your group youtell them two and then they tell your group which line to get in right before you board the log.

Yay!! Thanks so much for the reply!! I'm so excited for my 1st trip to DL!! Since we will be there on my Birthday...I'm even more excited to get a Birthday pin!! HEHE!!

Tell your daughter to do what I did my first time on Splash Mountain. Sit in the very front and then duck down as you're going down the big drop. The girl behind me got soaked, but, aside from a little spray on my back, I was pretty much bone dry.

I have to agree. Trip 1 dry as a bone. Trip 2 drenched camera got wet and was ruined.

as they say: Dry is not an option

Ponchos and Goggles!
some people will laugh at you, others will laugh with you., you will be laughing at the end of the ride.
