Waitlist-What would you do?

I had a GV booked for May & my daughter just found out she is pregnant so she & her husband decided not to come so now I'm trying to find a 2 bedroom. I booked SSR but would prefer to be at BLT or AK so I created waitlist for both. BLT has 3 of my 7 nights available right now. Can I make another reservation booking those 3 nights and drop waitlist for AK and change it to BLT? BLT has more 2 bedrooms than AK-Kidani so feel like my odds are better at BLT. MS would just need to merge the 2 reservations if it came thru. I feel I have a better chance of getting my nights like this rather than hoping an entire week comes thru. What would you do?

If you can book your waitlist in shorter chunks and merge them, that is a good strategy.

OP, I am optimistic about your chances! Be sure to stalk the website and see if you can grab any single nights if they pop up. I'd try to start by stalking a night you need that abuts your 3 nights that you already have booked, and try to peel off single nights from there. Does that make sense? If you peel off any single night bookings, you'd have to cancel your WL and create a new one for the remaining dates which is the only downside of grabbing single nights as they come available.

Your post asked what we would do ...this is what I would do. May will be here in just a few months, so others may not be as comfortable rolling the dice as I am given the short turnaround. I would probably book a cash stay as a back up in case those 4 nights I need don't come through ...but be mindful of the cancellation deadline if you do that. I think it's 31 days out. Or, did you keep your 4 nights at SSR and just switched the first 3 to BLT? If you kept SSR, ignore what I said about the cash stay.

Yes, I have SSR booked just in case but I will stalk to move us to BLT. THANKS!
