Splash Mountain getting lap bars

I agree and disagree on lap bars.

I agree for safety, but I disagree because Splash Mountain does not need lap bars. You never fall out.
And I've never seen any teenage groups try to jump out of the log or anything stupid like that.

I agree with you! A part of me is ok with this decision, but a part of me doesn't want lap bars! I normally sit three to a log(me, my little brother, and my dad), because my mom is too scared to ride. So, now we won't be able to do that! I don't see why people would want to stand up/jump out of a log. Oh well........

I normally ride by myself because my parents don't want to get soaked. Lol. Last time we went, I rode 4 times in a row and every time I had my own row. No one ever fell out and I don't see why you would want to jump out? I mean you can see the biggest drop before you enter the ride, so if it looks too intense for you, don't go on!

People are idiots if they think jumping out is going to do them any good whatsoever. *sighs and shakes head*

That said, I'm actually kind of happy about this. It's my favorite ride in Disney, but even though I KNOW if there was any chance of falling out, it wouldn't have passed safety inspections, I still get really nervous going down the big drop because I'm tipping so far forward. This will make me feel a little better ^_^

*is a wuss*

IDk those look like they're just the pads on the back of the seats me my mom and my dad say the same thing they really dont look like they're lap bars to me i could be wrong i just wish there was another clearer picture

I'm kinda jazzed about this...the hills were killer for me because I always felt like I was going to fly out of the log! ;)

I think it's not a half-bad idea! Before refurbishment, Splash stopped sporadically (more like often) because someone stood up on the ride. Usually, especially come summer, the culprit is one of the turismo (including those in the Brazilian tour group category) members.

I sure respect those South American herds for bringing much-needed money to my state where I and WDW reside, but I think the lap bars are the things that would keep them in line when coming an hour northeast of home each time they go there.
