Splash Mountain Drop

Thank you!!! :)

Now I've got to persuade my mom that the 26 ft. difference between Splash Mountain and Expedition Everest isn't all that much... :rotfl:

Do like me and explain that everest as well as splash is never more that a foot or so off the ground.

Now the mountians are high but technicaly the ride itself is not that high from the ground.

So how does the 50-something foot drop in Splash Mt compare with the drop in Kali River Rapids? Does anyone know how high that one is? I would love to ride Splash Mt but I am terrified of drops! The one in Kali River Rapids was just about at the limit of what I want to put myself through. (boy am I going to be embarassed if it was only 10 feet or something pathetic like that... )
Seriously - my stomach goes wacko on the Pirates of the Caribbean drop and the Maelstrom in Norway! I don't think I can ever work up the courage to do Splash Mountain as much as I'd like to.

You have no idea of what a great ride you are missing ,DD doesn't like drops at all until our trip to DL this year she started to (TRY )some she loved it.

I taped SplMt for her last year and she couldn't beleive what all the ride had to offer for just all that is talked about is the few second drop. This now her favorite ride and all she talks about now.
Just close your eyes and take a deep breath and it will be over.

The only thing I can find regarding the height of the Kali River Rapids drop is that it is similar to that of Pirates of the Carribbean (14 ft) from allearsnet.com...hope that helps!

P.S. - I know the drop on SM seems intimidating, but as a previous poster mentioned, the ride is sooo much more then the drop at the end. There is SO much theming and music and FUN inside the mountain that you are missing out of! Just try it once! You just may find that you absolutely love it! :goodvibes

i love this ride infact it is my fave ride - i hate that feeling you get in your stomach on the last drop.
but that is part of me liking the ride so much i have to do it.

also the ride is 12 minutes long - so this is near the end of the ride.

i don't think that i could do Aerosmiths rock n rollercoaster at MGM because of the big drops.

all people are different.

good luck!

Thats the most dissapointing thing about the MK Pirates vs. the Disneyland Pirates for Disneyland veterans going to Magic Kingdom for the 1st time.

At Disneyland Pirates has a 35 foot drop followed by the 14 foot drop. So at Magic Kingdom everyone who is used to the Disneyland version has a reaction of "thats it".

I keep reading on here how great Splash Mt is and my husband and son went on it last trip and said the same thing. That's why I really want to get up the courage to do it, but I'm not kidding when I say that Kali River Rapids was too much of a drop for me!

Actually, there aren't any big drops on RnR. All of the speed is generated by magnets that push you forward so there's no actual 'drop'. You do go upside down a few times. My husband, who is a roller-coaster wimp, went on RnR and LOVED it.

really? i thought that on the disney video promoting it - it shows it taking off doing a huge steep drop then going upside down.

Once you get used to the drop on Splash the view of the MK is so awesome! And the thing about drops, they are over very quickly. RnRC doesn't have any big drops, you go upside down three times but it's really fun!
