Splash Mountain Delays?

Does anyone know what's been causing the huge delays with Splash Mountain the last couple days? We're coming this weekend and were hoping to get to ride it on Sunday, so I was checking thrill-data.com to see what waits have been like and was dismayed by the huge delays the last three days. I was already worried about getting on it on Sunday and can imagine how crazy it will be if it doesn't open until afternoon that day.

Don’t know what the delays are, but someone posted a pic of it on Twitter today and the water level was veerrry low. Like a trickle.

You mean huge delays as in it's down or huge delays as in wait times?

I would expect wait times to be LONG leading up to it's closure.

we were in MK yesterday and it was down for 3 or 4 hours due to a malfunction. we had a LL booked for 3pm but it was down. we eventually got on around 7pm

We rode a few times the first week of January and so much of the ride has already been taken out. It was great to ride it one last time before the change but a bit disappointing to have so many details missing. I guess they didn't see the point in fixing things that will soon be replaced.

Ugh. I'm not optimistic it's going to get better the next few days. I was prepared for long lines but wasn't expecting it to be down so much. Fingers crossed it's up most of the day Sunday.

We also had a LL and never got to use it before we left a little after 6. We saw at one point it was back up and running; but the LL line was all the way over the bridge to the road by Pecos Bill's so we thought we would wait and try later. Unfortunately, the littles were too worn out by then and we left early. That was our only scheduled MK day but maybe we'll try to hop for it.

not being frequent visitors (haven't been for more than a decade) we obviously didn't notice many missing details but I did notice the Brer Rabbit holding the Hobo Sack and hopping around in a circle is missing. I imagine it's a bit sad for locals/frequent visitors to see is run down.

Disney isn't going to make it a priority to maintain the ride when it is about to close for an extended retheming. You're going to see things like this happen over the next few days until it officially closes.

The ride will be safely maintained but they aren't going to pay people to fix an animatronic or any other unnecessary item.
