Splash Closure

Recently every time we have done late night magic hours at the magic kingdom, splash mountain closes at midnight. I asked the cast member why this one is always shut down. He said well they say it is for maintenance but it also cost in the realm of 4000 an hour to run it. When we did the not so scary last October it did stay open.

I think it has a lot to do with demand too. At night, once the sun goes down, you won't dry off as fast and fewer people will get in the line for it, so they hedge against that and close it a bit earlier. It does stay open for the parties though.

Yes, I also think it is due to the demand. While I love riding it at night, it seems like a lot of people avoid it.

I hear it will be closed for refurbishment this year at the MNNSHP?
