Anyone know how to get rid of spittlebugs (e.g. the nymph form of Leafhoppers)? My yard is infested and seems to get worse every year. I usually just squish them with my finger (yuck) but there's just too many! Insecticidal wash didn't seem to work. I suppose I need to get them at the egg or adult stage - but how to do that without using pesticides? Any advice?

Well, after reading your post I was curious to find out more about spit bugs or 'spittle bugs'. Unfortunately, I didn't see a natural alternative way to get rid of the little pest. They are pretty gross guys :crazy2: I saw many chemicals out there that claim to kill the insect, however I don't know what else they would kill. Good look with your yard creatures.

Thanks for the info! That was very helpful. I'm going to try the insecticidal soap on them (one tablespoon of regular dishwashing soap and one tablespoon of lemon ammonia to one gallon of water). Hope it works!
