Spirit or Delta?

i'd go delta.

our family actually just switched from flying spirit to frontier.
spirit has really bad customer service imo

Spirit doesn't typically fly their routes 7 days/week, it's more typically a couple times a week so when there's a problem with your flight, you're likely stuck several days until their next one goes.

If that happened with Spirit it would take a month to get back to normal since they have so relatively few flights.

Are you sure you're thinking of Spirit and not Allegiant? Spirit has seven flights that day and the three days before and after.

Compared to delta, they do not have as many flights or planes. It would take longer for them to handle the situation.

Delta has mor airplanes, but many of those are... Oh I don't know, covering many more trips and possibly out of the country. It's all relative.

I will give you a real life example.

Several of us went to the Caribbean a few years ago. Most of us flew American. One woman, who loudly told us we were idiots for paying more, flew Spirit. Major winter storm comes. All of our flights are cancelled.

Those of us on American get out the next day. Woman on Spirit was told "at least 7 days". She wound up buying a full fare one way ticket on American home. The "savings" wound up costing her more than her original air and hotel. We have never again heard her talk about how smart is what to buy the 'cheapest' airfare option LOL!

It depends on the market, its a mixed bag. DTW-MCO is a market they've expanded fairly recently to 7 days/week schedule. I'm sure they'd like to expand every city pair they operate to regular daily flights but they aren't there yet.... part of their challenge is expanding their inventory of planes.
