Spirit of Aloha worth the 2 DDP credits?

DH and I are going on an adults only trip and he's worried that Spirit of Aloha is going to be too hokey for him. Is it worth the two dining credits for us to go or should we do some other signature dining? Thanks!

I wouldn't say it's hokey, but I wouldn't do it without kids. I would go to a nice signature restaurant and enjoy myself.

Unless you are planning to do a lot of drinking. My friend made it through the 7 dwarves, so for her, it was worth it moneywise.

Some of the story is a bit cheesy but the food was good and the dancing was awesome.

there every other trip but we use TIW and pay OP but we love the show and the bottomless beer and sangria mugs!

I don't consider the show hokey at all. It's a blend of today's Poly and yesterday's.

Get up and Dance!!

We enjoyed it as well. They alternate serving food between the dances. Yes, it was hokey when the children go up and dance, but the dancers are fun (and pretty) to watch, food is good, and all you can drink. Have fun on your trip.

Hiya! Sadly, I am forced to disagree with some of the PP. I would say no....no, it's not worth it. The food is not worth it, the show is not worth it. When my nephews were small they loved it but even they (now 10 and 12) have no desire to do it again. I'm with another PP who suggested a nice signature restaurant instead. Flying Fish?

Have fun no matter what!

Just goes to show you. The worst signature restaurant meal I had was at flying fish. So, like many things at WDW, some are great experiences and some are not. Thankfully, there is a whole lot there to choose from.

Haha! Well, you are right on, it's great that there are so many different choices for so many different folks! :thumbsup2 (Altho I would secretly urge you to give FF another chance.)

Seriously, it's always hard to answer these kinds of questions (is such and such worth it?) since our tastes are all so different....but I felt the urge to provide a different perspective. :lovestruc

Pixie dust to all and a great magical visit. No matter where you eat. ;)

How much of a foodie are you? // If you are a foodie, you may be disappointed with the food here and the show. If you like unusual foods or high end dining a different signature resturant may be a better choice.// If your tastes are more average, you'll probably love this. // Now me, I thought the food was excellent, the setting is lovely, and I even liked the show and find it worthwhile to go every 10 years or so. I've gone to this three times over a 30 year period (the first two were a different show though).

I think the food is quite appealing to the average person (me and my extended family) and decent but not as outstanding to a foodie (like DH).

We will try it again. I was really surprised because it gets such great reviews. They must have had a bad night.
