Hello! I posted this elsewhere and it was suggested by the moderator that I might get more answers on the restuarant thread....

Im thinking of cancelling my Spirit of Aloha ressie for Thanksigiving week. The forecast looks chilly :scared1:

Does anyone know if they cancel automatically for low temps? Has anyone ever been super cold there? Ive been a bunch of times and the weather has been nothing but perfect.

Im also thinking of cancelling our jetskiing ressie.

Opinions anyone?
TIA

Don't believe any forecast for a date that far out. I don't know the wx cancelation policy for this venue, but I wouldn't get concerned so soon.

I've been to Spirit of Aloha once, and I wouldn't return. Sorry, but I hated it. The food was average, the show boring (OK for kids though), and they did a HORRIBLE job handling the crowds. We were pushed and shoved left and right... it was a fight to get inside. Everyone in our party was pissed off by the time we were seated.

All that said, I'd also be uncomfortable there in cold weather. I don't know if there are any types of outdoor heaters, but I'm really not thrilled with dining in the cold.

But then, I'm from Louisiana... cold for us is the low 60's! There's no way I'd jetski in late November!

By the way- this is my 100th post! Yee haw!

Well Ive heard the food was wonderful so Im not sure about that sorry. We are going Thanksgiving Day for the 5:00 show I hope we dont freeze:guilty: but Im always cold, were not going to cancel cause I doubt we will get another ressie for 7 with this short notice :confused3 .

I love the show and the food it good, I have just never been late Nov and according to the forecast, every night during TDay week is suppose to be mid 40's.

Im from New England, so its not too bad with a coat and if your walking/moving, but I really wouldnt enjoy myself eating with a coat on, sitting at the Luau! Heavy sweater is the most Im willing to do before it becomes "not really worth it".

I had Sprirt of Aloha booked for this week, but after some serious thinking, we cancelled. Here's why:

More neg. reviews and opinions than good ones

The off chance we have cold weather

need more of a variety of food; the parents are coming along and 2 children to please

Accuweather is showing low temps in the mid-50's to low 60's and high's in the middle 70's for Thanksgiving week in Orlando. I don't think forecasts more than a few days out are that accurate anyway. Sometimes they can't get it right 24 hours in advance. I think I would wait at least a few days before your reservation to cancel. Don't you have up to 48 hours in advance to cancel the Aloha ressie?

I'd wait. Forecasts aren't accurate that far out. Wait until three days before. The forecast should be right by then. As for cancellations, I have heard of Disney cancelling the show in December, January and February when it was really cold. I think it may have only been the late shows though, not the 5:15. I can't recall for sure.

1) If it gets that cold, WDW will cancel the Luau.
2) They do not perform in cold, rain or high winds.
3) If they cancel, they refund the payment method (eg. credit card to card).
4) If canceling due to cold, they usually know during the afternoon.
5) If canceling for rain/wind, they can go up to 1/2-hr before the show.
