Can anyone tell me what Spirit Airlines are like? How is there service and are there flights on time ect... I was looking at there web site and there rates don't seem bad.

fly at your own risk is my opinion. do a search here for spirit airlines. there are a few different posts on them.

We had flown Spirit twice out of Atlantic City, the first trip was fine, but on the 2nd trip we had a big problem!!!! The day we were to leave MCO, there was a snow storm in the northeast, Spirit could not get out of AC. We spend the next 2 days in the airport trying to find out when our flight would arrive! We couldn't get any info from the Spirit personnel, all we got was a lot of double talk, they kept saying the plane was on the way, then several hours later informed us that the plane was not coming!! This is when we discovered that no other airline will honor their tickets! I personnally will not fly them again!!!!!

I haven't heard anything good. Late flights, cancelled flights, schedule changes.

I fly Spriit Airlines at least 4 times a year from Atlantic City to Orlando and have done so for years. I have only had my flight delayed once(delayed for 3 hours) and Spirit gave us a $50.00 credit for the inconvenience. I think they are a great airlines and do not even consider flying from Phila when Spriit is so convenient. I have always had great flight attendents, nice planes and a wonderful smooth flights. I just returned this past Monday from a WDW trip that I flew with Spirit and I am going to WDW again this Thurs also flying Spirit. The flight we were just on was on time both ways and we even arrived 15 minutes early both ways. My only complaint with Spirit is that they do not give frequent flyer miles, because as much as I fly with Spirit I know I would get at least one free trip per year. :D

I have also flown spirit airlines for the last 5 yrs and never have had a problem not even a delay. I love the convienience of flying from Ac instead of Phila.

oh no......not this thread again!!!!!!

I've only used them for 2 trips out of Atlantic City in the past year, and both times they were fine; loved the convenience of AC rather than Newark.

Have heard a few different opinions along the way. Don't know if I'd want to fly in the dead of winter... ;)

We flew Spirit out of AC last Feb. and let ourselves be voluntarily bumped. To make a long story short our original plans were to fly in and out of Tampa as we were doing a Fl "tour" and that was a central point. As it turned out we were able to fly into Ft. Myers (the first stop on our "tour" about 1 hour after our original flight to Tampa so we arrived at my brothers even earlier than anticipated, plus our rental car was even cheaper in Ft. Myers. The counter person in AC couldn"t have been any nicer to us and even found us in the terminal when our new flight was arranged so we didn't have to wait in line and made sure we had a 3-seater for just the two of us. The flights were on schedule and the attendants were very nice. We are flying with them this Jan. and using our 2 free tickets(from being bumped). I would not hesitate to fly with them again and the AC airport is so convienient for us. This was a long story anyway, was't it?
