We flew on Spirit out of LaGuardia last friday at 7:45 am and returned yesterday on a 6:20 pm flight due to arrive at 9:05. We landed at 8:45!

I've now flown Spirit Airlines twice, and although the airline doesn't have televisions and the airplanes are not brand new, we've gotten excellent service and have arrived on time for our destinations each time.

Now, the parking at LGA is another story....we tried 5 off-site lots before having to park in the $24 per day lot because all of the other lots were full.

Maybe next time we'll try a car service, or we'll luck out and get a fare out of Newark for less than $300 r/t.

Jet Blue is starting to fly out of Newark. We should be able to get better priced flights.

While you may have flown on one of their older planes, Spirit is currently getting a brand new fleet, with about one new plane being delivered every six weeks. By January 2007, they will have the youngest airline fleet in the United States, with an average age of less than two years old.

Yes, I did hear that "Song" was now going to fly out of Newark :cool1: :cool1: !! All in all, LaGuardia isn't so bad, but the parking situation is just not good - perhaps when we went last time it wasn't such a busy time of the year to travel.

We've even considered flying out of PHL on Southwest, but that's pretty far from our house also. If we go again in about 2 years (we won't go earlier with the baby i'd imagine) hopefully we'll find a good fare out of NWK.

Spirit Airlines seems to have a really good reputation, and I do have to admit we've had lots of luck with them and would use them again even if we did have to drive to LGA.

That is so funny, you were on the same flight home as my friends who came to visit us for a week. They also complained about the parking as well at LGA and how they had to drive around forever to try to find a spot. Small world!! :sunny:

You may want to consider parking at Avistar and they will bring you to Spirit and then when you return, they will bring you back to your car.

You can book online and you will be guaranteed a spot.
