Does anyone know the cost of selecting your seat on Spirit Air? (ACY-MCO)

Thanks!

The seats cost from $8.00 to $16.00. Cheaper towards the back, more expensive towards the front.

Thank you! I'm just trying to figure out the full cost of taking the 90 minute drive to fly them vs the 30 min to fly Jet Blue.

I've flown both airlines and I absolutely love JetBlue; however, you can sometimes get Spirit very, very cheap. For example, I'm flying ACY to MCO in August for only $98 roundtrip including taxes and fees. I'm also a $9 fare club member, so my total cost including checking 1 bag each way will be $128.

That being said, if JetBlue was remotely close in price, I would probably go with JetBlue for the TV's, bigger seats, free snacks, etc.

The only downside to flying JetBlue (other than price) are the delays flying into and out of Newark.

I'm a huge Jetblue fan, but now that we are paying for our DD, the costs really do add up. I flew Spirit once about 5 years ago out of NY and I liked it so I hope it hasn't gone down the tubes since then. :rotfl:

The $9 club seems to be worth it also, so if I decide to take this last minute trip (and I'm talking within the next couple of weeks), I think it will be worth joining.

I reserved my seats today. They range in price from $8 to $20. I noticed some seats on my return flight are $50 (those in the "big seat" section).

Prices depend on location of the plane you sit (those in back are less expensive than those in the front) and whether you choose an aisle, middle, or window seat.

FYI, I booked Spirit for August and called (twice) reference the seat reservations since I'm flying with children and I was assured both times that my party would be seated together. That saved me $80.00. Also of note as a member of the $9 Club I am flying a family of five from ACY to MCO for $500.00 and change including bags. Also factor in parking and tolls. Parking in ACY is $8.00 a day and you can walk to the terminal. Lastly, ACY is so relaxing and quiet compared with the craziness of EWR. So consider the stress factor.

So you did not choose your seats? You are going to wait until you arrive at the airport?

Even with the added fees, including parking, tolls and gas, depending on when you travel, it can be cheaper than flying Jet Blue out of EWR.

I'm sure Spirit will do their best to seat your family together. However, they will not bump someone who paid for their seat just so your family will be seated together. It depends on how full the plane is.
