spinoff: seeing famous people at parks

i read a post recently about seeing celebritys, we are going to WDW nov29- dec 4.
wondering if anyone has a good guess if any of the celebritys filming for the parade come in early and go to the parks? does anyone know who is hosting it this year? -
would love to be star struck while at WDW....
reading that list on other post of who people saw while there really made me see stars ( HAHA)


ps.....any news on when it is taped? - i thought i read the first sat in dec, which would be the 4th, but that is our departure day

I ran into Derek Lowe (red sox pitcher) and his family back in 2003, the season after he pitched his no hitter, and before he started to go downhill. we were also in the parks on the day Tom Brady filmed his "I'm going to Disney World" post superbowl commercial but we weren't at MK that day. We didn't see or hear any buzz about it either....we're going to be there dec.7-14, so we hope they don't tape until later!!

we went 2 years ago. about the first week in dec and saw regis in the street of mgm doing a commercial. he was filming wwtbam. i guess they were also doing live with regis and kelly there. never saw kelly.

Okay, my DD6 is here reading with me and said:

"Like who honey???..."

"Goodness Mom, we have seen Mickey and Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy..." "do you need me to get my autograph book to help you remember?"

Now she thinks I am and cannot remember who we go there to see!

I also went 2 years ago the first week in Dec and saw Regis and Kelly taping the Christmas parade in the Magic Kingdom. I also saw Kelly at the GF with her family and she was so nice to us.

we saw Barry Williams (aka Gregg Brady) at Typhoon Lagoon!! odd seeing someone like that in a bathing suit!!!

Seen lots of celebs over the years...

But the best was December 2001 when we stayed next door to Julie Andrews and her husband, Blake Edwards, at the Boardwalk.

Walked the halls with them, watched a rocket non-launch from the balcony of Concierge with them (she had just gotten out of the shower, wet, very short hair, and was wearing a bathrobe) and then sadly watched them depart for the airport in their limo. The latter was the only time I took pics.

She is an incredibly elegant lady and I was very impressed! Blake is very down to earth, and we joked about the launch when we were standing there looking at the sky and not seeing anything.

We never made a fuss over them, or asked for autographs or pictures or anything. I think they deserve that respect. But we did get to see their suite!

One time I saw Gary Busey at Six Flags over Texas. Even before his motocycle accident, he seemed pretty wasted.

The only celeb we have seen in our many visits was Coach Mark Richt, head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, former assistant coach at FSU. The funny thing was that my wife recognized him before I did and I was too slow to get the autograph books out. Btw, I'm a huge Bulldogs fan. Not that I think he was rude but I do think he noticed me wearing a Bulldogs hat and he hurried by so he wouldn't be noticed. I can't really blame him for that; he was on a family vacation just like us.

Our freinds went last christmas and were "extra's" in the filiming of the parade special. Someone sang and they were in the audience.
It was early December. But dont remember the specific dates.

Let's see, we've seen Michael Jackson and Macualey Culkin there in '91. And we saw Peirce Brosnan in the MGM Parade too.

I think that's about it! We were at the parks one time when N'Sync was there, but we never saw any of them!

We were in MK last Dec as they taped the christmas parade and the only celeb we saw was Wayne Brady. He walked right by us as we tried to manuever around the crowds on Main Street. Since a ton of people were lined up to watch the filming, we decided it was a great time to enjoy the rides.

Maybe this is a silly question, but... Do celebrities have to wait in line like the rest of us, or do they get special front-of-the-line access?

The bigger celebrities usually come from a back door away from the entrance. But others will go through the Fast Pass sometimes.

We stayed at AKL this May (the first week of May). My DH came out of the arcade beaming. Steven Tyler from Aerosmith was in there playing video games! My DH didn't want to make a pest of himself, so he just asked him a couple questions and left him alone. Someone else grabbed him for a picture. The next morning on the bus, other families were talking about seeing him the day before at MGM.
