I saw a post by YellowMickeyPonchos about some haunted spots at DL. Does anyone have any stories?

There are a couple of ghosts that like to ride Peter Pan at night. The man is tall and bald, and the lady has big hair. It is said that they let themselves on the ride when the park closes at night and they are always the last ones in line! :scared:

no, but i would absolutely LOVE to hear these stories! especially since we will be going during the Halloween festivities this year.

we had AP's for a couple of years when we lived less than a half hour from Disneyland. we used to go often on weeknights, and walk around the park in the dark when it was almost empty. i wish i'd known some of the haunting stories then! we've never seen anything weird, although i will say that BTMRR creeps me out at night. and not just the ride, but the whole area around it. but that's probably just because it seems extra dark and deserted.

I.WANT.SCARY.DISNEYLAND.STORIES!!!!! :yay:

Try the Haunted Mansion of the Hollywood Tower of Terror for hauntings! The Haunted Mansion boasts 999 happy haunts.

and a real persons cremations is in the earn on fireplace in hm well its what i heard

Just a few I heard about.

The Christmas Shop - Some of the stock crew has reported an strange feeling when alone stocking the store for the morning. There is an old photo from the 19th century of a young woman up on one of the shelves. It has been documented several different times that a stock person will noticed the photo frowning (her photo is taken with a straight face) at them along with a strange wind in the room.

Fire Station - some employees heard foot steps at 2nd floor at night and someone knocked the door. The 2nd floor is not open for public and it's been an empty room for several years. Many believe it to be Walt, But I would have thought that Walt would rather spend his afterlife "accidentally(on purpose)" tripping Eisner whenever he came within 100 miles of any Disney property?

Haunted Mansion - There are so it says 4 spirits that are said to be in the place all the time, elderly man (who died of a heart attack in Aug. of 1970 before there was a first aid station on the west side of the park), an elderly woman and a young man who has quite a sense of humor. There is also something nasty in the attic just before the ride exit into the graveyard. Witnesses report having hair pulled in the crypt (exit) area with no one in sight, touched on the back by a hand in a car that ended up having no one in the car, seen people walk up the portrait hall or grand staircase, stop and vanish, faces peer from behind the corner at the top of the grand staircase, heard footsteps on the false floor behind the load area when there is no one else there, been touched on the face by unseen hands, seen a man in the exit mirror. Several guests and cast members have seen a phantom boy, sitting and crying, near the exit. It is said a woman wanted to spread the ashes of her recently deceased young son in the mansion, because it was his favorite attraction. She asked permission, but Disneyland would not allow it. Nevertheless, the mother snuck the ashes in and scattered them anyway. This seems unlikely to me though, and there are similar stories about other rides..

It's a Small World - It is said that 3 cast members who loved it so much have returned to haunt this attraction. Lights are said to turn on and off by themselves, and after hours, the dolls move when there is no electricity running to them.

Matterhorn Mountain - The Matterhorn Ride, the most infamous ghost story of Disneyland, and most likely the saddest, is that of Dolly's ghost. Dolly was riding in in the front toboggan-style car and turned to check her two childrenriding in the back of the car. For some reason she felt that she had to stand and undo her seat belt to do this. The car entered a sharp decline, (now known as Dolly's dip) she was thrown out of the car, up over the heads of her children, and onto the track behind them. She was then run straight over by the next toboggan.

Pirates of the Caribbean - The story goes that a young boy and his mom loved the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The boy got cancer and his last wishes were that his ashes be spread in the Pirates ride. Disneyland rejected that for health reasons of course(can you say biohazard?) but his mother did it anyway. At night the ride operators can sometimes see a lone boy riding one of the boats on the video monitors, but when they check it out there is no one.(you can see simmilarities between this and the Haunted mansion one...)

Space Mountain - both the ride itself and the woman's locker rooms are said to be haunted by the ghost of "Mr. One-Way", a guest who died on the Space Mountain ride back in the 1970's. On the ride, he is described as a large man with reddish hair and a red face, and has been seen by guests getting into a car with a lone rider, but he vanishes before the end of the ride.(Spookily enough in une this year my 11 year old son was a little perturbed as he could have sworn there was someone in his section of the ride with him but there wasn't when he got off!! He has never heard or read anything of this stuff either!)

The Star Trader (4th floor stock room) - Cast members have felt a cold, eerie wind on the 4th floor of the stock room, when there are no doors, vents, or windows up there.

The old People Mover attraction is now gone from Tomorrowland, but for years it was said to be haunted by a young man who is said to have died on one of the annual Grad Nights held at the park. A boy apparently jumped out of his moving car, tripped, and dragged underneath to his death. It is said that he grasped onto his girlfriends blond hair to try to pull himself to safety. From that night on there were sporadic reports of operating, girls (especially those with long blond hair) would sometimes feel an unseen someone pull viciously at their hair.

Tom Sawyers Island - The ghost (s) of one or two people have been seen on Tom Sawyers Island. It is reported that after closing for the night, there have been at least 2 if not 3 apparitions seen. The cast members, who search for them always come up empty handed. It is thought that the 2-3 boys may be the boys who drowned in the Rivers of America surrounding the island during Grad Nights. At least three boys (all Grad night victims) have drowned in the Rivers of America.

Tomorrow Land - Reports of a menacing presence accompanied by cold spots.

Innoventions - Years ago when Innoventions wasn't Innoventions and it was America sings a woman named Debby was crushed in between the rotating building and the wall and to this day there have been cold spots on the second floor of the Innoventions building.

Okay, I hope I didn't make you too scared to go to Disneyland now.

My two stories come from CM and ex-CM friends. Nowhere near the details you have, Madfelice, but personal accounts. I have heard a few of the ones you mentioned.

One was walking the diorama tunnel at night, checking things out for improvements. A light appeared in the middle of the tunnel, went a little ways as my friend followed and called out to see if someone was there, and then ir just disappeared. No footsteps, nothing. My friend was completely creeped out and ran out the other way. Same friend used to do technical in the HM and PotC. Says that HM isn't nearly as creepy at night as PotC.

Two married ex-CM friends tell stories of the entities and old man that haunt the Big Thunder Ranch path. There are tales of an old man sitting on a bench and waiting in that area. One friend actually saw him late one night. They also say that CMs avoid that area if possible. The other spirits there are apparently somewhat malevolent although I don't have details. I do get a very unpleasant feeling walking through there as it is getting dark.

I don't think I have ever walked through the Big Thunder Ranch path at night. Not even sure I paid attention to it during the day. Often, we are just walking and not paying attention because we are trying to get out of a crowd. And there are always so many people around, I probably wouldn't notice a weird feeling or presence isolated to that area. If I felt something odd, I would probably think it was a weird vibe from a person. But I do know those uneasy feelings that I get being at other certain places, so I would be very shocked if I ever felt that way at DL, which seems so safe and immune to anything malevolent.

What would creep me out is being there after the park had emptied, walking around without a soul in sight, going into the rides for maintenance and maybe a stray Small World child starts dancing or a random Pirate starts moving. I assume these things could happen due to technical glitches but it would freak me out if I were all alone.

Actually they occur, but not due to technical glitches - they are due to decreases in hydraulic pressure that come when the attraction power is turned off. Things operated by power turn off completely. Hydraulic fluid has temperature changes and cooling and expansion and other issues that cause settling. Think about how water expands when freezing and also changes in a diiferent fasion when cooled after being heated to created steam pressure. It's not quite the same thing, but you get my drift.

Same friend tells about fixing something on one pirate when the one next to them all of sudden turned it's head due to its hydraulics settling. The team left for a break - immediately. :lmao:

ooooooooooooo im loving this!! haha im obsessed with ghost stories :)

That path is very, very, eerily creepy
My mom and I walked that path in June when we were there and it was dark, dark out. There were a handful of people on the path but not too many thats for sure. Needless to say, I was definitely a little weirded out.

This is such a cool thread!!!

To further the story behind these ghosts... Their name was the Andersons and they were visitors from London back in the early 60's. After visiting Disneyland they were headed back to the airport and were killed in a car accident because they were driving on the wrong side of the road (they do that in London). Their spirits were trapped in California far away from their home. It is believed that they return to the Peter Pan ride each night because it reminds them of home. They have to be the last ones on Peter Pan because they never get off! :scared: They sleep there at night and wander Fantasyland during the day. However, you can't see them during the day because of the sunlight!

That Peter Pan one has got to be scariest!! I'm soooo going to have to check that out next time we're there. Although I think I will totally freak out if I see them! LOL If it's not them, some bald dude, and a lady with big hair is gonna think I'm wierd. LMBO
