We have multi colored now but had red and green forever. When I decorate the tree all matchy matchy somewhere down the road I think I will use white.

I also prefer the small bulbs, not the larger C9 I think they are called.

ETA Please feel free to post pics if you have them, I love to see the lights!

I have different sets, and sometimes switch it up. One is regular multi-colored, one is red, white, and green, and one is clear.

Multi-colour! The brighter and more festive, the better!

We use miniature lights, multi-color on our tree. Except for the sockets that I take the light out and plug in ornaments that do sounds.

And, of course, we use all manner of lights on the outside of our house (I know the question was about the tree, but I like to show off :teeth:):

Hard to see in the picture, but most of the lights are multi-colored. And the red & blue ones around the roof are color changing leds with different patterns.

Here are ours from last year...I won't put up the tree this year until Thanksgiving evening when everyone leaves:

Our biggest tree in the living room is pre-lit with clear

our smaller 6' tree in the dining room has clear

but the medium 7.5' tree between the living room and kitchen is lit with multi-colored lights (and a couple of strings of clear, because brighter is better!!). They all three have very different decorations, and the tree with the colorful lights is packed with our more "fun" ornaments, kid-made ornaments from over the years, etc...It's a pretty fun tree!

Not awesome pictures, and I now you didn't ask for any, but I just get so darn excited about Christmas trees!! I want more, LOL!!

I have my eye out for a vintage looking train to go under rmy vintage looking tree. Our main tree goes into an antique cast iron stand that I found at another antique shop 2 years ago. My vintage tree has its own stand. I've always wanted a train around the tree.

For me it's a Christmas village...I really want to start collecting village pieces. I did buy a church already this year to get it started. I had a friend who had a gorgeous train under her tree with a Christmas village inside the track beneath the tree...it was my favorite thing!

That would be so cute! I love my village, maybe I will try that this year.

I have a pre-lit tree, and I really don't remember if the lights are clear or colors. I'll find out when I drag the box down from the attic. (Not until after December 1, of course. More like December 10).

Clear on the "in house" tree. I have an artificial on the porch that is pre-lit little white lights but I added a couple strings of the big C-9 colored lights. Looks great from the road!

All white, which I don't like, but DH does, so I put up with it. I prefer multi colored.

Clear pre-lit tree. The top section doesn't light up anymore, so we have to string clear lights on that part. This year I bought a LightKeeper Pro repair gun. I'm hoping I can finally fix the lights.

For years I did clear, old fashioned lights but last year I decided to change things up. Went from ribbon to paper chains, a clear, white star to a multi colored star, wood beads to "popcorn" and from old fashioned bulbs to about 500 steady, clear minis and 400 slow blinking, colored minis. Will do the same this year but having the kids make clothespin snowflakes to go on it as well.
