Spilled olive oil on keyboard...Help!

Since my dis-friends helped me solve my last problem (remember the sharpie marker on dd's shorts?), I come to you again...

Went into the kitchen just now and saw the iMac keyboard turned on it's front over paper towels. I mention to my dh - "the folks on the dis have had luck with using rice you know" thinking that there had been water spilled on it(we have six computers in the house so this is hardly a new occurence for us) His answer - "Really? It works for olive oil?".

He got most of it off/out and used some windex.

Arrgggh!!! Any ideas? (other than keeping olive oil/dh away from any kepboards)

Oh - and for the record this wasn't caused by the kids but rather the computer techy executive dh (and he's a director of cyber securities for a major company)

This is wacky, but they say that it works. Put the keyboard in the dishwasher.

If that doesn't work, just buy a new keyboard. I know this is a budget board, but you are only talking about $20-$30. Is it worth your time to go through the hassle of cleaning it? Not to be a downer, but I'm only frugal up to a point.

$49 for a new keyboard, $69 for the wireless version.

I'd tell my husband that's one less round of golf for the month for him and just buy a new one. Cleaning oil up? Not worth the time and effort, in my opinion.

Thanks guys - we (I) aren't going to put a great deal of effort into cleaning it. Just wanted to know if there was something quick and easy.

Might try the dishwasher idea...
