Spike the dinosaur .. Anyone have it?

Is it worth the $$$ ? Is it worth 65?

My boys got Spike for Christmas, and it was a huge hit. It is really cool and fun to play with. It does a lot, and has the neat jungle music like the display in the store. I can't say they play with it more than the other new toys, but when asked, that is their favorite toy for Christmas.

I ended up paying about $80, including shipping, for him, and I'd say he was well worth it. I'd have a hard time saying he would have been worth the full price. I did order him full price, but did the whole re-order and return deal when I got him on sale later. Of course, since this was from Santa, I would have paid anything (well...almost anything) to get him. The looks on their faces make him well worth what I paid!

For your DD or your DS? We got him at $60 last week and while my DS 2.5 was bit afraid at first he warmed up to him, played with him for the day and hasn't touched him since. Honestly, not worth it for us. I was going to save it for his 3rd birthday but DH convinced me not to (he spoils DS worse than me.) I think the 4 year old would get more out of it than your 2 year old but only if she wants a dinosaur!

I wanted this so bad last year....never could find it for a price I was willing to pay for it.

Found it the other day for $59, and carted it around for awhile, and put it back. I figured it would be a hit for a day or so......then sit in the corner. I would rather put that money toward a power wheels that I know my almost 4 year old would love....and get more use out of once its nice enough to go outside.

I still find Spike really cute tho.

DGS3 got it for his b-day in October... he still loves it!! That thing is amazing!! I couldn't believe how agile it was!

Our twins got him for Christmas and the LOVE him! He gets played with daily - even our 10 year old DS thinks he's awesome!

Walmart has him in the 50% clearance right now. I got it early last week so he might even be less now. Target has him but only 30% as of the other day.

My DS2 got the small one...Spike Jr..and runs from him! He usually picks him up and throws him in a closet when he starts to walk and roar!! I think he would be petrified of the big one....but it is pretty neat!

Thanks for the info on the clearance! I actually found Spike for 50% off at Target.

I bought one at full price a couple of weeks ago. I tried to do a price adjustment and they wouldn't let me because they said it was a clearance item. So I purchased it at the clearance price and told customer service that I would just return it with my old receipt. She wouldn't do it. Told me I would have to get the old one and return that. Explained to her that she wouldn't know the difference what I returned. Asked for a store manager and he tells me that even if I did return with my original receipt I would get it at the clearanced price because that's the price at their store (I bought the original one at a different Target) I know this to be incorrect as I've purchases items before and they would adjust the price to whatever was on the receipt. Anyway with a little persistence he refunded the difference.

So once again, thanks! 65 dollars saved!
