SPIDERS...Why did it have to be....SPIDERS

That is so sweet of Jasmine to plot with your sister to buy the bag for you!! I love the wristlets, myself. The bowler style of yours is just great.
Sounds like your day was relaxing and fun! Sorry you didn't like the snapper so much, though.

I was thinking of you this morning on my way to the gym....it's -40 and I thought "I wonder how hot it is in Kuwait right now":rotfl2:

Girl, I'm so with you on changing ADR's....Jasmine's reaction is usually "of course you changed something....OCD mother!!!! Gotta love her!!

I have a confession to make...Jasmine is usually the one that reminds me to take the pictures before we start eating.

Hope you're doing well...how many days til you leave ??:yay:

Believe it or not it was cold enough this morning here to see my breath! I think it was 36 F! Not as cold as back home but most definitely colder than I ever thought it would be. Not that I'm complaining because I'll be wishing for 36 when it's 130 here this summer!:rotfl:
I'm going to try to stay off the Disney website until it's time to go. Every time I go on there I end up changing my ADRs around. The madness has to stop! I am happy with what we have right now so I think I have settled on all of them. Maybe...:rotfl2:
I will remember to take food photos this time! Even though it embarrasses my family! I really appreciate when others do it so I want to return the courtesy.:goodvibes
I leave Kuwait on Feb 27 which will get me in NH by either late on the 28th or early on the 1st. We leave for Disney on the 3rd so that's 45 days!:woohoo: I haven't been this excited for a trip in a while!

Great bag!! I have never seen that one, it is very nice!! Great family you have there young lady. (Yes Queen I am talking to you!! lol)
That french toast looked so yummy, I am going to search on the internet for it!

Hello Queen of All Things!!!

From a fellow WINTERPEGER!!!!

Just found your TR today and I'm enjoying it! I haven't finished reading it all yet though, just to about page 12.
Can you refresh me of when you went without me searching back?

We just got back on Jan. 8th.
My DH and myself along with DD 23 and DS 18 went to Disney from Dec. 26th until Jan 1st. The 2 kids stayed stil Jan. 2nd and then made their way back home and then DH and I did a carnival cruise until the 8th.

Disney was fabulous but busy!!! I think DD is still talking to me!! lol
I had plans made from ridemax.com and we stuck to them and we were in the parks early and rode everything without lines. By 11 am the parks were always full and we would go back to our hotel to freshen up.

We never did make it to the boardwalk and we would have loved to. I love your photos of the boardwalk and the friendship boats!
This doesn't sound like it was your first trip to Disney. I went way back in 1982 just when Epcot opened for a couple of days when I was like 18. This was a first time trip for the others. But it felt like first time for me.
NYE was awesome in Epcot and DH's birthday was on Jan. 1st so it was especially fun.
What part of the city are you from?
We are in North Kildononan!
Well, I will get back to reading more of your TR!
Take care and stay warm!!!
Isn't this weather just ridiculous?

Debbie

I thought I would do a real life update....I hope you don't mind! As you know Jasmine turned 18 on October 30 and 18 is the legal drinking age here so she would be clubbing it with her friends on this fine evening. I insisted a few of her close friends go for dinner at our local steakhouse first and I thought I would share some pictures with you!
664.jpg

My baby girl with her first legal drink....a strawberry daiquiri.
665.jpg

From left to right is her best friend Michelle, her friend Sara and Jasmine
666.jpg

Me and Carrie-Lynn....Carrie-Lynn would be keeping an eye on them all at the club....she is such a sweetie, but at the last minute she decided she wanted me to drop them all off because she felt she might want to have a couple of drinks....so drop them off is what I would do....we've had a few very tragic accidents in the last 2 weeks where far too many young people have been killed....I'll pick them up whenever wherever they are!
669.jpg

The waiter brought her out Billy Miner Pie....it's oreo cookie crust, mocha ice cream with toasted almonds and caramel and hot fudge...it's heavenly!
670.jpg

Two of my closest friends....Diane and I met in 1988 when we both joined the bank...and have been together ever since. Her hubby Dave insisted since they were there when Jasmine was born, that he needed to be there to buy her first drink....love them:love:
673.jpg

The waiter then brought this out....in the middle of this concoction is a shot of Bailey's.....
675.jpg

Jasmine isn't exactly a drinker...she just couldn't bring herself to have this shot
676.jpg

Still attempting....not going so well
677.jpg

Yup, just can't do it
678.jpg

Carrie-Lynn decided to buy her one she thought she could do....nope, Carrie-Lynn had to drink it....guess I don't have to worry that she'll come home drunk this evening:rotfl2:
680.jpg

We settled up the bill and headed back to our place so the kids could get into their costumes and hit the club. This is Jasmine and her friend Jaryd...he literally put this costume together in 5 minutes....oh to be that talented. Jasmine's "gypsy" costume will double as a Pirate costume for the cruise in February for Pirates in the Caribbean Night.
682.jpg

Carrie-Lynn applying her fake eyelashes.....
684-1.jpg

All set and ready to go...... Unfortunately this is all the pictures I have...Carrie took some at the club and they had a fabulous evening...I picked them up at 1am and we headed back to our place for the girls to have a sleepover! They had a great time and they were all very well behaved. I was kept in the loop all night as to how the evening was going...by who you ask.....Jasmine's new boyfriend! Yes....Jasmine has a new boyfriend and I must say we are quite fond of him! He treats her wonderfully....what more can a mother ask? They have been working together since March and I guess one thing led to another and now they're now dating......
685.jpg

They decided on Saturday that it was time to put up the Christmas trees....Saturday they would do ours and Sunday they would go to Jeff's and put there's up!
692.jpg

Yup...that's the goofy side of my girl coming out...she really does make us laugh!
694.jpg

I insisted on at least one nice shot.....
695.jpg

I'm not really sure what she was doing in this one...being goofy again...
697.jpg

Then for some unknown reason...she thought she was one of Charlie's Angels....that poor boy doesn't know what he's in for.....

I hope you enjoyed our real life update and tomorrow evening I will have another trip update up.....have a great evening everyone!!!

Ha.. well I'm on page 18 now!!!
Just want to say how cute Jasmine is and if things don't turn out well with Jeff then I could always hook her up with my son "Jamie"! He just turned 18 on October 1st!!!
BTW... I love your christmas tree ornaments. all the princesses! I bought a bunch of tree ornaments form the Disney Christmas store in DTD. My oldest son just got married in Sept and I bought him a really nice Mickey and Minnie tree ornament swinging on an engagement ring and had it engraved with 2010.

well, back to my reading! lol
debbie

Love your D&B bag - what a lovely birthday present.:thumbsup2

Great day at DTD - breakfast looks really good - that bagel / french toast thing looks really good.

Sorry you didn't love you entree at FF. I had scallops there and they were awesome. I do think the wait staff is really nice there. I know they were super nice when Denny and I went there for our anniversary. Really excellent customer service.

What an adorable purse! That was sooo sweet! :goodvibes

I'm glad you reviewed Flying Fish because we were thinking about going there when we go in the Spring but we only have 3 precious days to choose our meals and we must be very choosey! It looked nice but probably not something I'd care for much myself. :confused3

I so have to try one of those Bailey shakes- that looked wonderful! :lovestruc

Try to stay warm... best wishes to both you and Jasmine

We were headed to Epcot today and I was more than excited....why you ask? Because this would be the day that we would be travelling around WS....there is nothing I love more at WDW than wandering WS.
319.jpg

We ate breakfast at the hotel (I have to get better at taking food pics for breakfast and lunch, apparently I only take them at dinner) and wandered out to the buses. We waited maybe 5 minutes on this morning and we were on our way! Couldn't resist a picture of the signs!
320.jpg

We decided we would head straight to Test Track. It was one of the few times on our trips that this ride didn't break down while we were in line or worse yet, while we were on it!!
321.jpg

We decided we would then head to Universe of Energy! When we were on this ride in the summer it broke down and we had to walk off, which I must say was kinda cool! This time we were able to remain on the ride the entire time. I love Ellen DeGeneres, she cracks me up no matter how many times I've been on that ride!
322.jpg

By the time we got off UoE, we decided we would take a leisurely stroll over to WS...it was almost 11am!
323.jpg

I was secretly hoping by the time I snapped this photo that a monorail would be in the picture, but no such luck
324.jpg

Jasmine grabbed the camera from me and told me to get in the picture! She reminded me that it is my favorite place to be so she wanted to get some pictures of me instead of the other way around
326.jpg

They had started to set up for Food and Wine and I said to Jasmine that maybe we would luck in and they would be opened before we left for home!
327.jpg

We didn't luck in for an ADR at Le Cellier on this trip, but Jasmine decided she was going to walk down and see if they had any openings (I knew she was wasting her time) and sure enough the answer was no. She was disappointed because her favorite thing to eat on all property is the cheddar cheese soup. I told her when we go in the summer that I would for sure get an ADR for here!!
328.jpg

The beautiful gardens of Canada...I may be a bit biased considering we're Canadian, but I find these gardens absolutely gorgeous!!
329.jpg

I cannot for the life of me remember where Jasmine stopped to get this strawberry slushie drink, but she was "dying" of thirst! She asked if I wanted one, but I was saving myself for a more adult drink.....
330.jpg

Another shot of Canada before we proceeded to the United Kingdom
331.jpg
There were some street performances going on and we stayed for a few minutes, but Jasmine decided she might want to do a little shopping in the UK.
She bought a really cute pink t-shirt that said I heart UK....you'll see it in future pictures!
332.jpg

A shot of the store before we went in....
333.jpg

I love wandering around the back, you truly feel like you're in the UK!
334.jpg

Passing over the International Gateway headed to France. I was feeling pretty excited right about now....you all know what was waiting for me in France right?
335.jpg

Before I could head to my favorite spot for an adult beverage, Jasmine insisted I get a pic with my two favorite characters!!
337.jpg

We have a picture of this fountain in every trip, but it's usually in the evening, so we decided we would get a picture in the daylight!
339.jpg

After I took that picture of Jasmine a photopass photographer showed up and got one of the both of us...it was perfect timing! Those little magical moments really make the trips special don't they?
340.jpg

Finally I could see my destination.....at this point I was really wishing I could run and jump and click my heels together, but I can't do this and I didn't want to hurt myself trying, but please know that is how happy I was to see the Grey Goose Slushie stand!
341.jpg

Is that not a beautiful sight? They had just opened and the lady that was working was afraid the slushie wasn't slushie enough so she gave me a little to try...tasted just fine to me!! She felt bad so she gave it to me in a big cup...I told her she was my new best friend!
348-1.jpg

Jasmine was such a doll and said mom, we've got all afternoon so let's just sit on a bench and you can enjoy your GGS....who am I to argue....I thoroughly enjoyed that drink! While sitting on our bench I recognized a fellow Diser and her family were walking by. I introduced ourselves but we didn't get any pictures. It was neat to recognize people you've chatted with on the boards....
351.jpg

After I finished my delicious cocktail, we wandered a little more around WS......

Sorry, but I just have to stop and make a comment here!!!
The cocktail stand in France was my 'FAVORITE" spot too!! In fact, we spent NYE in United kingdom and I had to go back over that bridge to get another "Grand Marnier Slushie" I've found the recipe and plan to make them at the beach this summer!!!
I'm enjoying your photos so much, and I have to admit some of the really good ones that are showing great areas of the park.. I'm hijacking them and copy and pasting them for myself... so I hope you don't mind. I especially like the photo of the drink stand!!! It was dark when we were there on NYE and so I don't have the best photos of the countries!!
Also... we ate at Le Cellier and it was awesome. Our TA's daughter works there!!!!! So we found her and asked to take photos with her. She didn't know us, but we told her who we were!! So... when you go to Le Cellier next summer search for 'RHEANNE" who works at Le Cellier because she is so happy to say hello to a fellow Winnipeger!!

Debbie

Hey Queen! I am finally all caught up!:)

I am embarrassed to say, but I actually read here for the 1st time tonite all about Jasmine's 18th birthday, and saw the photos from your special dinner that night. The minute you posted that photo of the delicious Billy Minner Pie I knew exactly where you went - the Keg!:)

How wonderful that you were able to meet up with Mary and her adorable daughters. They look absolutely smitten with Jas!:goodvibes That girl just radiates sunshine though, so it is not too hard to see why!

Queen - just wondering if Jas has ever given thought to applying to work at the Canadian Pavillion at Epcot through the college program. She would be an absolutely perfect ambassador for our country!;)

I know I said it before, but I just can't help but to say it again. You and Jas have such a special radiance about you - I just love reading all about your adventures. How lucky Jas is to have a mom who cares about her as much as you do, and how lucky you are to have such a special, marvelous daughter who obviously also thinks the world of her mom. I hope that one day when Katie is all grown up she and I can share some of the very special mom and daughter moments you and Jas seem to experience together - not just on this trip but in everyday life.

Looking forward to hearing all about the rest of your trip!:goodvibes

Queen! that is a great idea this poster has about if Jasmine wanted to work at the Canada Pavillion!! If you ever need info about that, I could ask my TA about how her daughter got involved. I know it was a lengthy process. She was at UofM and she applied and had to do a phone interview and then had to fly to Montreal for a face to face interview before getting the job. She's about 23 yrs old. My 23 yr old daughter thinks it would be awesome as well, however she just graduated from Uof Brandon and is working as a band teacher this year.
P.S. sorry to keep hijacking your TR here, but there's so much I missed and needed to comment on!
Also wanted to comment about the teenage boy who passed out! Our son got really sick one night as well, and DH needed to get him a wheelchair while we were eating dinner at Cinderella Castle and they found him one so he could get him back to the bus and to the hotel! (it was a 24 bug that hit him and he was better by late the next afternoon!)

Debbie

That is so sweet of Jasmine to plot with your sister to buy the bag for you!! I love the wristlets, myself. The bowler style of yours is just great.
Sounds like your day was relaxing and fun! Sorry you didn't like the snapper so much, though.

I wanted Jasmine to buy a wristlet but she thought her friends would make fun of her:confused3 I said who cares!!

Believe it or not it was cold enough this morning here to see my breath! I think it was 36 F! Not as cold as back home but most definitely colder than I ever thought it would be. Not that I'm complaining because I'll be wishing for 36 when it's 130 here this summer!:rotfl:

Good lord we awoke to another morning of -40 ... I am seriously sick of this already! Wow, Feb 27...that is right around the corner!! When I read 45 days my stomach did a little flip flop...I am so excited for you guys!!!! Stay warm....

Great bag!! I have never seen that one, it is very nice!! Great family you have there young lady. (Yes Queen I am talking to you!! lol)
That french toast looked so yummy, I am going to search on the internet for it!

The only place they had them was in Tren-D!! I do have a great family don't I:love: That french toast ... let me tell you...I dream about it. I love crunch and this was fantastic!!!

Debbie

Hi Debbie and welcome!! How nice to have along another Winnipegger!! We went from Sept 17 - Oct 1 and no it wasn't our first trip...we are very fortunate that we go almost every year! We are booked to head back on August 21 and we'll be staying in a 2 bedroom villa at AKL with my sister and her family!!! She posts here every now.

We live in St. James by the military base! We learned very quickly how to sleep with the roar of the airplanes pretty darn quickly when we moved in!

I have to say this weather is ridiculous!! I didn't want to get out of bed and face another day of this. Jasmine went last week and spent a small fortune on a Canada Goose jacket cause she's sick and tired of freezing all the time!!

Ha.. well I'm on page 18 now!!!
Just want to say how cute Jasmine is and if things don't turn out well with Jeff then I could always hook her up with my son "Jamie"! He just turned 18 on October 1st!!!

debbie

Thank you so much....I'll let you know if things go south:lmao: They are almost the exact same age!! I do love my ornaments and every year I make it my own personal time there to pick out just the right one for that year. That ornament you bought sounds so beautiful!!!

Love your D&B bag - what a lovely birthday present.:thumbsup2

Great day at DTD - breakfast looks really good - that bagel / french toast thing looks really good.

Hey Mary Ellen!!

Thank you...yes the best present!!! Couldn't agree with you more on the customer service at FF...she was a doll. I think we may try it for breakfast now that they serve at that time....actually I'm excited about it cause I love the Boardwalk.

What an adorable purse! That was sooo sweet! :goodvibes

Hey Carla!!

When you only have 3 days (love that you said precious cause that's what they are) you must be choosy!!!

You will not be disappointed....I love that we got to sit on the patio and just enjoy our time with our friends...it was the best!!

We're doing our best with this stupid weather, but it sure gets to you after awhile...I cannot even imagine what my heating bill will be for January!!

Sorry, but I just have to stop and make a comment here!!!

Debbie you copy as many as you like!!! Aren't they the best...we never go to Epcot without hitting the slushie stand!!

We will absolutely ask for Rheanne...I love to go and see if there are any CM's from Winnipeg. It's the best!!!

That would be great....it's always good when you know someone who's "been there done that" it sure helps!!

There is nothing worse than being sick, but being sick in WDW just seems wrong!! So glad it was only a 24 hour bug!! Hey....are you going to be doing a TR????:woohoo:

I was thinking about doing a TR but my problem is that I have problems putting the photos up. I tried downloading some photos to photbucket, but it just never seems to work for me when I go to upload them to the site. And... a trip report needs photos!!!
Our trip started as an almost disaster between flights from Toronto to Orlando! I don't know if anyone wants to know about that!!

Hey, I grew up in St. James, just by the Grace Hospital. That area is my old stomping grounds! going to Polo Park and movies at the King Theatre!!
It's such a small world ! (pun intended)!

Stay warm today!

Debbie

I'm back and all caught up :)

How wonderful of Jasmine and your sister to get you the bag! A Disney Dooney is certainly a must have for all your trips and it is adorable! :goodvibes

Side note here.....I just re-read the post about the -40 degrees. How do you guys have school or anything? If our windchill gets to -20 they close the schools. And we all know windchill is what the temp FEELS like, but not what it actually is, so just wondering.......... Oh and my December bill was awful. (really dread the January bill!!) I could buy park tickets for one and a half people for 5 days for what I paid. LOL (see how we rationalize trips over here?? :rotfl:)

I am so happy to see you again...I've missed you:hug:I hope this are better for you!!!

I agree....I might have to get another one;) we'll see what this summer brings!:lmao:

Nothing stops here, we're just used to it I guess....or completely insane:lmao: The school buses stop running when it hits a certain wind chill, but the schools are always open. We've lived in this province since 1969 and I don't ever remember the schools closed....blizzards, wind chills, you just truck right on through it!!

I have to admit though, it is starting to get to everyone. They said by yesterday we would be back to normal temperatures, but tonight they're calling for -43....sick of it!!!

I love that way of rationalizing a trip!! I'll let you know when I get my bill!!!

What an awesome birthday gift! I love the Disney Dooneys. And that pattern is really cute. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great afternoon!

I had problems with photobucket when I started too...I had to call my sister to walk me through everything:lmao: Disaster between flights...who did you fly with Air Canada or Westjet?

It is a small world.....We moved to Winnipeg in 1988 and we lived in Charleswood until 2003 then moved to St. James....I love our area, I didn't love Charleswood:rolleyes1

Hope you are staying warm! They say -4 by Sunday...that'll feel like beach weather after these temps!!! Hope you have a great weekend:thumbsup2

Sounds like a great afternoon!

I wish I could afford one of each...but that is not to be! I thought if I could talk Jasmine into buying one we could always trade....she said no:rolleyes1

Love the purse!!! Awesome updates!! I miss weather like that right now!!!

Thanks:goodvibes You miss cold weather like ours....wanna trade?:lmao: Cause I'd be on the next plane out:laughing:

Hey Queen...love your purse. What a great birthday present. How nice of Jas and your sister to get that for you!:goodvibes

Sorry your meal wasn't all that you wanted it to be at Flying Fish. But at least the service was great.:) I have never yet been to Flying Fish but it is on the list for future trips. It does look beautiful in there!
