SPIDERS...Why did it have to be....SPIDERS

You got the lioness....You are so lucky. Jasmine must have great mojo! I never, ever get the lion or the lioness. So disappointing because I have been on that ride like 25 times. :sad2: Jasmine did a great job with safari pics. thanks for not letting us down Jasmine!

Nice picture of the Yeti shadow. Looks surreal. I also like the picture from the lift hill. And your ride pic is adorable!

Coming out of lurkdom! I'm glad to see a mom/daughter trip. I honestly wish my mom and I had this type of relationship. But whenever we're at Disney, we're on a completely different spectrum. But I guess that happens when you get older and head off to college and are about to get married right? Anyways, I hope all is well and I am looking forward to more updates! :goodvibes

I'm so happy you came out of lurkdom to chat with me:hug: It makes me to sad to even think of the day when Jasmine doesn't want to come with me anymore....I hope that never happens....I want it always to be our "thing".

Your AK day sounds awesome, although 45 minutes waiting for the bus in the heat was probably not the greatest start to it

Can't wait to hear more

Yeah...45 minutes was a little long....we worked on our tans at the bus stop:lmao:

All I can say is Jasmine is beautiful and a lot more patient then I would be.

I agree....and yes she is more than patient...one of her many amazing qualities:hug:

Awesome safari pictures. Mine always come out pretty blurry.:sad2: And I have never seen the female lion before, always only the male and he's always sleeping!

Great shots of ASMu too. You know, I love the deluxe resorts so much but we go to the values just as often (if not more) and I love them just as much. The layout and the food courts are so convenient. I would probably pick Pop over all of the mods I've stayed! :goodvibes

As far as my planning is going, I just found out that the Poly has no hot tubs at their pool and no fitness center either. You have to go to the GF to use theirs. Sooooooo I don't think I want to stay there anymore. The hot tub thing is only an issue because it may be too cold in March for the pool and the jacuzzi is nice on a chilly day. I don't necessarily need the fitness center but the Poly doesn't have a running trail either. So I think the Boardwalk is where we'll be staying. Which I can't complain about!

Mine too...that's why I figured on this trip I was just going to enjoy....but since Jasmine wanted pics I handed the camera over.

I would want a hot tub too...after the cold we experienced in January, we would have loved to be in a hot tub in the evening! I can't wait to hear all about The Boardwalk, it is so beautiful!

Nice updates! :goodvibes

We skipped AK in August and your update made me regret it, but there's always next year :)

I love the pictures from EE and the safari! Both you girls got some great ones :thumbsup2

You got that right....doesn't it feel nice to say "next trip"....I love that!!!

Great pics of AK!

I really need to go to that Tea place! I have heard great things but I always end up walking right past it!

Jasmine did a great job of taking pics on the safari! I love that one with the female lion!

Can't wait to hear more about your day at AK!

It is so good....if you love tea, you'll love this place!

Excellent update! I enjoyed your ASM pictures. We stayed at All Star Sports in '03 and had fun visiting the other AS resorts to take pictures. I remember seeing some of those things.

Ahh, the Animal Kingdom. I just love it there. Sounds like you had a great morning! Gotta love that view as you're climbing to the top of EE. :thumbsup2

I have really grown fond of AK over the years....I actually find it very relaxing to wander around there! It might have something to do with FOTLK...my fav show on property:hug:

Love to see your pictures. The two of you are always enjoying yourselves and smiling. :thumbsup2

And that last lion picture, sometimes you need something to scratch with. :rotfl2:

Thanks Darcy!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: so true.....so true......

Fun TR :) I found it this morning and have to finish reading the rest with more coffee! Thanks for sharing so many pictures - and I cant wait to hear about the rest of your adventures. Mother/Daughter trips can be SO fun... boys just dont understand sometimes ;)

I'm so happy that your enjoying it....I will be getting another update done this evening....it's been a little crazy lately with work and getting prepared for the holidays...but tonight I have set some time aside!!!

Great updates :thumbsup2. The birthday/costume pictures were too cute. I'm like Jas; I can't hardly hardly straight shots of alcohol, I like all the mixings stuff with it.....:rotfl2:. Her new beau is really cute, and that he treats her well makes him even better.

Seeing your pictures at the resort beings back memories of our May '08 trip. I don't guess I will get my group to all go again since Amanda is getting married next November :sad2::sad1:.

Hey Dana....I just realized as I'm posting this your at WDW...I hope you're having a great time!!

Jasmine will do just fine on the cruise with the slushie drinks as she calls them...hard alcohol and her apparently don't mix:lmao:

Great pictures!
I can't believe how empty the food court was that morning for brkfst, looks like ya'll had the place to yourselves.

That's awesome EE was only a 5 min wait! That's strange there was a bird on the ride, then it was gone & now it's back:confused3.
I love the picture you took of the Tree of Life from the ride.

I also love your male lion comment

It's funny how empty it was....that particular morning was when I thought AK had EMH in the morning.....Nope.....we got to the bus stop and realized that I had made an error:scared1:

That male lion made us both laugh out loud....it was hilarious!

Great updates! It really does look steamy in those morning shots. I guess that is FL in Sept. Love all of the safari pics. Jasmine got some great shots:thumbsup2

Thanks Jenny! You're so right...it's FL in Sep! She did a great job!

Love the new updates!! Jasmine looks so pretty in her birthday pictures and I agree with everyone, her new guy is a cutie. They are both very photogenic!! Glad to see she met someone and he looks like a potential dis-er!! haha
The frozen tea sounds yummy!! I have never ridden Expedition Everest, I get too bad of motion sickness, but glad to see others enjoy it!!
Hope your weather isn't as cold this week for you as it's been. OH and I wanted to mention your trip next year to Fargo. The Detroit area isn't too far from that, so come here!! lol

Hi Samantha....thanks for your sweet comments, I will pass them on to Jasmine...we'll keep you updated on the potential dis-er status:lmao:

How fun would that be.....Detroit would never be the same again:woohoo:

I was behind. Congrats to Jas on the new man! Very cute and looks like a nice guy. I am married to a Jeff :)
Great AK update. I will have to remember that stand for some tea in Dec. I can't bring myself to do EE-so I will live thru ur pics!!

Thanks Mary, I will pass along to Jasmine! Mmmmmm warm tea in December at AK....sounds like :cloud9: wish we were able to meet up again, but no such luck this time:sad2:

Just dropped in for a quick peak . We are so busy trying to get ready for the trip and everything organised for Christmas.

Have a great day!

Hey girl!

Can't believe your trip is right around the corner....are you guys going to do a TR when you get back???:rolleyes1 Good luck with everything...the one great thing is no matter what....you're going to Disney!!!:yay:

Hope you're having a great weekend!

What's up with the rhino? He looks like he got shot with paintballs.

I know:sad2: That's exactly what I thought...and the next time we went on the elephant had them:confused3

I will let Jasmine know...she will be very flattered as she always goes on and on about how great your shots are:banana:

I love that pic too and couldn't believe it actually turned out!

Okay so I would love to know what's up with them shooting the animals with paintballs. It really does look like that.

Saw your pics of Jasmine on her 18th birthday. She is adorable and looks just like you by the way. My DS also turned 18 on Oct. 21st. but the legal drinking age here in NY is 21. It really makes things hard because you know they're all going to drink anyway and he's in college now in Boston. So, when he was home I don't think he was much of a drinker. I'm pretty sure he was honest about that with me. He was always the designated driver and made sure some drunk friends made it home ok. So now he comes home for holidays and he and friends are hanging out drinking in the shed (insulated and heated and was DH office and excercise room before we separated). He was honest about what they were doing but now I'm thinking I shouldn't know because if anything happens I am liable. Ugh. I think it's simpler when the legal age is 18. It was when I was 18. We even let Dss have a beer when he was 18 as long as he wasn't driving anywhere. How are kids and parents handling this in your neck of the woods?

"How fun would that be.....Detroit would never be the same again"

You've got that right!! We might even make the local news!!! LMAO!!!! (Dawn and Caitlin, you guys come too, we can stir up some crazy fun and call FOX2 News!! lol)

Ok now on to a serious matter. Is it really paintballs? Im sure it's a way to mark them if they had a recent procedure or something, to keep track, but seriously, paint balls? Don't those hurt?
Hopefully someone can enlighten me. I suggest tying a bow around their tail or something. :rotfl:

Love your photos of the resort; I've never been there and it looks very cool. I hate EE; I only do it once each trip for my daughters. Then, DH rides it over and over with them. I only want to ride it to see the Yeti, but it is a bit too much of a thrill ride for me.

Thanks my friend:hug:

I have always been the type of parent that believes if you make something forbidden then they want it even more and will sneak around to get it....so I always said "if you want a drink have it at home"....she tried wine when I had it....didn't like it.....then she tried some coolers...didn't like those either...and so on. Some of Jasmine's closest friends came from families that didn't have the same point of view as I did and these same kids were the ones that were drinking out in the bush .... that scared me because one of them got alcohol poisoning....I guess each parent does what they think is best but that worked for me. It's so hard to know if you're making the right decisions when we're raising our children isn't it?

Oh yes...Dawn and Caitlin would absolutely have to be there too:thumbsup2

I don't think it would be paintballs....but it does look like it....but I can't see it....hopefully someone knows and will fill us in!:cool1: I love the bow idea:banana:

Glad you enjoyed the pics of the resort!

I love it and hate it all wrapped up in one....the backwards part gives me a sensation I don't particularly like....you know...the vomiting sensation:lmao:

Nice AK update, Queen. I'm with you...I get a little quesy with the backwards part of EE.

You and Jas got some great photos at AK. And I can't believe what a great picture you got of the lioness. :thumbsup2

Thanks Kathy! I had an update all ready to post and I lost it....I hate when that happens!!!!

It is hard but I guess when we see them being responsible and striving to achieve the best for themselves we've done something right. :goodvibes

Great minds think alike....when I read Queen and Jasmine were thinking of coming shopping in the states next year I too thought that they should come to Detroit

Love your pictures from the top of EE!! What a view! The safari shots are great too-- love the male lion all vegged out HAHA!

Great updates Queen!

I'm repeating a few other comments but Jasmine did a great job with pictures on the safari :thumbsup2 I can't believe you walked right on to EE -that must have made up for the long wait for the bus!

Looking forward to more :)

If we weren't already booked at Disney for next summer...we would fly down for sure!!! I can't even begin to imagine how much fun we would all have!

I'm surprised the shots turned out as well as they did...I was hanging onto that camera for dear life!! Typical male is the first thought that came to my mind:rotfl2:

Hello my friend:hug:

I thought she got the best pics of KS! When I look back at some of the ones Itook....not so good! Walk on more than mad eup for the bus wait!

Hey Queen, we're getting close to our trip so I thought I would start a trip report. The link is in my signature if you or anyone else is interested in following along.

I have fallen so far behind in my updates but I hope to get this one done and at least one more up before the weekend is over! I'm sure everyone is in the same boat as me....too much to do before the holidays and no time to get it done. I will not make the mistake again of not saving any vacation days for this time of year....I only had Thursday afternoon off but thankfully I am mostly finished!

Onto the update.... we were finished with another lazy afternoon around the pool so we headed back to the room to shower and get ready for a wonderful evening at the MK....and dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. We headed out to the bus and as luck would have it our bus was there. We ran to catch it which meant we were a little early arriving for dinner.
269-1.jpg

Oh....I wanted to share the vinylmation key chains we bought ... Jasmine's is the Cheshire Cat and Nemo is mine....I love these.
270-1.jpg

Of course you all know because we were early we took advantage by taking some pictures. There was absolutely no one using the PP so we went over to give him something to do!!
272-1.jpg

The train station....this never gets old to me...walking through to this magical place....it makes me smile just to think of is.
274-1.jpg

Couldn't resist a picture of these gorgeous Dooney and Bourke bags....did I buy one.....you know I did....actually there's a story behind how I got mine but it comes later in the TR.
276-1.jpg

As we were exiting the store there just happened to be another photopass photographer and I feel one can never have too many pictures in front of the castle so we grabbed one more.
281-1.jpg

There is something about this picture that I love...maybe the fact that 3 of my favorite things in the whole world are in it....Jasmine, the castle and Walt and Mickey, who in my eyes are one!!
284-1.jpg

We then took a leisurely stroll over the Liberty Square, which I have to say is my favorite part of the entire MK...there is nothing I love more than to grab a coffee or cold drink, a bench, and just enjoy my surroundings....pure heaven in my mind!

We had received a text from Mary (MaryAz) and they were also at the park...they were having dinner at the Plaza so we decided we would meet in front of LTT when Jasmine and I were finished dinner to watch the parade and Wishes...I couldn't wait to see them again...I knew Mary was in need of some adult conversation and I was just excited to see my new friend again!
285-1.jpg

It's been a couple of years since I've had Jasmine's portrait done here but it sure brought back a flood of memories from past trips.
286-1.jpg

The Christmas Shoppe...I always manage to leave some of my money here every trip...I know you're all shocked by that
287-1.jpg

Finally at our destination....we had no wait at all, they took us right in. I found that to be the way most of our ADR's were on this trip...maybe because parties of 2 are easier to seat...I'm not sure.
288-1.jpg

This was also one of very few restaurants that acknowledged the fact that I put on our ADR's that it was Jasmine's 18th birthday. It started to really irritate me when we would go and they wouldn't even say Happy Birthday...I didn't want all the glitz and glamour all the time, but why ask if you're celebrating when you make them if they don't acknowledge them...Ok rant over. Our salad and buns with honey butter...not gonna lie...I could have eaten that butter alone and a spoon and been perfectly happy. Not quite sure what happened because this was the only food pictures I took at this dinner
289-1.jpg

Our waiter was a lovely young man named Tam and he brought Jasmine out this cupcake for dessert....he was so kind.
290-1.jpg

When we were wrapping up the bill, I sent Mary a text telling her we were almost through and they were just coming off SM so our timing couldn't be more perfect. The girls were quick to pull up a seat ... I love this picture of Avery, Cayley and Jas
292-1.jpg

As you can see Cayley was quite comfy with Jasmine....she cracked me up
293-2.jpg

Jasmine and Avery....isn't her crown beautiful!
294-2.jpg

Finally the parade begins....I have to admit I missed Spectromagic....probably because it's the only one I've ever seen.
298-1.jpg

312-1.jpg

313.jpg

It was wonderful to see Wishes again....it always brings a tear to my eye. Last summer Jasmine and I watched it from the Cali Grill and we loved it, but there is something about standing in that park that just puts the cherry on top of a wonderful day. We said our goodbye's at the front gate to Mary and the girls and I hope we cross paths again on a future trip!!
