COOL!!!

I'll tell DH. He's still raving about the movie -- "it almost made me cry about 5 times. . ."

By the way, I read that Sam Raimi (the director) is in the middle of working on the story line for Spiderman 3 with his brother . . .

I just saw it tonight. I knew it would be great but it was so much better than I thought. I have to say, J. Jonah Jameson has got to be one of my favorite characters. J.K. Simmons had me cracking up the whole time.

yes yes, many lessons to be learned from Spidey2. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The effects were well done, as usual. I give it an A- if my opinion counts :) I like the first a lot too. I just can't wait till the next X-Men comes out!!! Goodness, I hope they bring in Gambet (sp?)!!!!!!

Foobs:earsboy:

FINALLY got to see it yesterday! WOW!!

I also felt that Tobey M was a WEIRD choice at first but I love him now! He is really Peter Parker!

My son, 11, loved it but aren't MOST movies made for 11yo boys???? :p

I found myself hiding behind HIS arm at times!

LOVED LOVED LOVED the train scene. The great thing about Spiderman is he's HUMAN, not superhuman, and the stress he uses to accomplish superhuman stunts endears him to people. Tobey's sweet little face is so easy to love!

Great job!

I can't wait to see Harry as Green Goblin. James Franco is GORGEOUS and looks so much like James Dean! Wow!

I know I'll probably be in the minority but I just don't think Kirsten Dunst is MJ! MJ is soooo gorgeous in the comics and making a blonde a redhead, IMO, just doesn't work. She's too bland to me. I enjoyed looking at the guys more, anyway! :p

That train scene WAS great, wasn't it, Robin? "You'll have to go through me, first." "And me, too." Sent chills up my spine.

And we thought MJ was a whiney brat -- actually, we thought the landlord's skinny daughter was a much more endearing character! It will be interesting to see if she comes back, or if they develop her character more . . .

And yes, I thought at first that Tobey Macguire was too much the wimpy, sensitive type to play a buff superhero, but he IS Spiderman!!!!::yes:: ::yes::

I think the scariest part of Spider-Man 2 is the hospital scene. Older kids will like it, although I thought there was a bit too much Mary Jane-Peter Parker.

Still, I thought the movie was one of the better comic book movies I've seen. Another really good comic book movie is "Blade II." It had a lot of good action and Wesley Snipes really plays Blade well. He'll kick your butt if you look at him wrong! :) The worst has to be "Batman and Robin." I bet the producers of this thought, "Let's get a lot of A name actors to play the main characters and who cares if they aren't right for the part!" Batman was like Batman playing George Clooney instead of George Clooney playing Batman. The script was pretty bad too.

It was interesting to read what others said about small children seeing this. We had several small kids around us which worried me but they did quite well.

Same here. And one of the those small children was my DD (5 1/2). She really enjoyed the movie. I actually cringed during the hospital scene because I was afraid of how she would react. She did fine. The only problem she had was when Doc Ock went to Harry for the element he needed, and Harry looks over the edge of the balcony, and there was one of the mechanical arms. I know we all knew this was coming, but everyone in the theater jumped! DD said that she didn't like being scared like that! lol

Overall, DD and I both liked this movie, although I never thought I would hear "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" in a Spiderman movie!!:p

Robin-- I think James Franco is HOT, too ;) ! I never thought that Kirstin Dunst was really that pretty, either, but she's a great actress.

WM Barry-- I agree about the Blade movies--I lik 'em too. However, my vote for the worst comics-based super-hero movie is, hands down, DareDevil! It was TERRIBLE. I had no sympathy for any of the characters.

jwsqrdplus2-- "I never thought I would hear "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" in a Spiderman movie!!" Me either. . .but I lOVED that part. I giggled a lot watching it.

:wave2:

As for the train sequence, I was just waiting for Superman to fly in. I think they really needed him!

My son leaned over and said Wouldn't it be AWESOME if Superman flew in!!!!!!

We loved the movie!!!!! I loved the ending, I loved it all!!!!

My favorite part of Spider-Man 2 was Peter confessing to Aunt May about what really happened the night Uncle Ben was killed. There's so many memorable moments in SP 2 -- the pizza delivery, the side of the building fight, etc.

I think the scariest thing was Doc Ock's gut! That ain't a special effect! Put on a shirt, dude! :)

I guess we'll have to wait until 2006 for part 3!

Needless to say I EMBARRASSED THE HECK out of my kid singing the whole song! I used to LOVE that song!

Deb! I was wondering about the landlord's daughter! She was so cute! I wonder if she's coming back?

Never saw Blade, Barry, can't STAND Wesley Snipes... ugh... but on the other hand, LOVE George Clooney and could NOT make it through Batman and ... NO I can't say it!!!! :crazy2: That's what makes the role Tobey played so amazing, he was soooo unlike what I expected and he way outdid my expectations! Go, Tobey!!

YIKES!! They made Tobey work out why didn't they make HIM work out?

His gut? His back his chest.... his EVERYTHING! I cringed everytime he showed up! :crazy2:

In the comic Doc Ock was 5'9" and weighed 245. So he wasn't the leanest dude.

Loved the movie!! Can't wait for part 3!! :bounce:
Tobey IS Spiderman!!
