Is Spiderman currently open? If so, will it be closing due to the renovation or not?

It is open and there are no known plans to close it during the refurb. The digital systems are being installed on a not-to-interfere basis.

I think most of the enhancements are being made to the ride film, so little work is needed on the actual attraction. Universal will make any needed refurbs over night. UOR rarely closes attractions for refurbs (although it does happen) like Disney does.

The 3D effects look better than ever with no signs of interference in ride operations.

I rode Spiderman on Sunday Dec. 11 and it was the clearest movie I have seen in some time. Maybe I was lucky or most of the projection upgrades have been done. I rode it about a month ago and some of the scenes seemed 'off' a little.

From what I know, the projectors are all new, but the new CGI effects won't be finished until next year (Spring?)

Tell me about it, at the rate the refurbs keep coming, pretty soon the only things that will be open for our January/February visit to WDW will be the entrance and exit gates.

I was at Universal last week and Spiderman is closed for some reason. Refurb? When did it first close and when will it reopen???

It closed Feb. 8 and will be open in March sometime. It is currently undergoing major changes to the film, improving the technology. Other facelifts are being done at the same time.

Alerting All SPIDEY Fans!
On March 8 your favorite Webslinger will be back in action as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man reopens with stunning enhancements including 4K Digital High-Definition Animation, New 3-D “Spider-Vision” Glasses & More! Will we see you there?

Pasted this from Facebook

I was actually going to go this weekend...any chance there will be a soft opening?

Since we already have a thread on this subject, I'm going to combine the two.
