 As silly as this sounds....I can't even bear pretend spiders dangling down on me. Could some compassionate person please warn me of what ride or attractions I should avoid?

I also have a spider phobia but can't think of anything at WDW that has fake spiders hanging down on you. I've never had a problem.

Anyone else think of something?

Avoid at all costs the 3d movie "It's tough to be a bug". Lots of spiders there....without too much detail. :)

In the haunted mansion there are a couple of giant obviously fake spiders on giant webs. They are not hanging and they are no where near the rider. That's all I can think of.

"Haunted Mansion" in the Magic Kingdom comes to mind. I have to say that when I read the topic here, I was hoping you weren't going to ask if there are spiders in florida, because there are!

Haunted Mansion at MK and It's Tough to be a Bug at AK definitely.

DH is absolutely terrified of spiders, he'll have nightmares about them if one dangles on him, but he was fine with HM and ITTBAB. He just reminds himself that it's fake and that seems to help.

But ITTBAB I would skip because not only is there a spider on the screen, but also a lot of giant spiders dangling from the ceiling.

Do the dangling spiders at Its Tough To Be a Bug actually dangle on to you?

they dangle above you, but it does suprise a lot of people especially if you've never seen the show because the spiders are pretty big (I'd say 2 feet long) and black and they just drop from the ceiling.

If by chance you are going to Universal (shhh, I did not say that!), then pass on Shrek 4D movie. At one point, spiders dangle, the theater goes black, and you feel "thumps" in your lap as though the spiders have fallen into your lap.

Avoid Spider Mountain, It's a small spider, and mission:spider; there are all pretty scary.

POST 200 for me!!!!!

anyways on Its tough to be a bug i get creeped out everytime!
I hate spiders too, big phobia! um, i close my eyes. good luck!

It is a great 4 D production. If you can muster the courage, don't miss it. I loved it and am doing it again this October. Living in Louisiana, creepy crawling things are just a way of life.

There may be a few real spiders on display at Rafiki's Planet Watch. I remember seeing lizards, frogs and such and think there may have been spiders. If so, there were just a few, but you could ask a CM to verify and then avoid that area.

It is not a silly question. I also have spider issues. That is why I am not 100% certain about Rafiki's--I wouldn't get close enough to look!

I hate spiders, too, but there's nothing I skip at WDW because of them. The ones in HM are really obviously fake and no big deal. As for ITTBAB, I just close my eyes when they spray the fogger and open them back up when I hear Hopper call them off and I"m fine. Chili doesn't bother me at all - he's furry and cute and way up there on the screen.
