Spider Man

Hey Spidey7 - I agee, it is the best park in the world! I see someone mentioned Spiderman spins?!!! We are taking our third trip this year in a couple of weeks and I have chickened out on Spiderman EVERY TIME! How bad is it really? Are the spins 360? I really do want to ride it this time.

it's comparable to MIB and Cat in the Hat...if you've ridden those? It's a full 360 spin, but only 2 or 3 in a row and that's it....no other spins...it's not really as bad as most make it out to be.... It's a big "car" you sit in, can't "really get going" ...if you know what i mean :thumbsup2

You beat me to it!

I was just going to say that if you've done Cat in the Hat, you can handle Spiderman... as far as the spinning goes.

This isn't a tilt-a-whirl spin and it is over quickly. You barely have time to say "whoa!" and it's done.

i beat you to it like 10 minutes ago :rotfl2:

but, i agree...it's over before you go "whoa!"

Thanks for the replies! I did Cat in the Hat but had some trouble on it ( I have to avoid spinning for heath reasons- had a brain anurism in the past). I think I would have been allright on Cat if there were not so many spins- after the first 4 or 5 I would think - Oh no , not ANOTHER one!!:rotfl2: I will try Spiderman this time- thanks again for the help.

None of us are big on intense thrill rides:scared1: . The first time we went was last March, it was his first time and it was all about Disney. I think he will be able to enjoy Universal when he is older, and can get all he can out of it. Right now, altho 11, he's still does not want to try roller coasters, and I could not even get him on Splash Mountain at all. I think he will probably grow out of this in a few years, and then we can go and get our moneys worth.
Hoping to visit soon, but will probably be with MIL, so it may be an all-Disney trip again. Branch out after that...

That was one thing I was trying to convey. Contrary to some pre concieved opinions about Universal, it really only has 3 "intense" thrill rides, which are the 2 coasters at IOA and the Mummy. Everything else is a "theme" type ride, very tame in my opinion, any 11 year old could handle them no problem.

And as for the spins on Spidey or any of the other rides for that matter. No big deal at all, nothing to be concerned in the least with IMO. Very tame as far as the ride itself goes. It is the themeing/concepts/animatronics/ and 3-D for Spidey and other elements that make them so great. Not intense at all.

I have an DS 11 that loves the coasters but will not ride spiderman even though spiderman is his favorite comic hero and he will not go in twister or the others but give him the coasters or anything outside and he will do them.
Go figure.:confused3 :sad2:

Tell him if he can handle the coasters, the other rides are absolutely no big deal. They are slow, like riding in a car or something. The coasters on a scale of 1-10 are about an 8 for intensity, all the others are about a 2. IMO
