How much do you guys budget for spending money (blow money) per day?

I'm a newbie so I would have to add $25-$50 a day onto whatever you guys suggest. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm trying to budget and see how much $$ I need to make off of eBay and other places to feel comfortable going. The trip is paid for, but the extras are what I'm after now....

I don't have a "blow money" category in the budget but we do budget $125/day for food for 2 adults & 2 juniors. We also budget $100/person for souvenirs for the trip, regardless of its duration. Snacks are paid for out of the food budget, ride photos come out of the souvenir budget.

I put $100 in an envelope each day for our family. That's for snacks and food. We usually only eat 2 meals a day-there is SO much to do, who wants to stop? :rotfl:

We don't usually buy much for souvenirs. I remember the days of the $300 at the Disney outlet and another $200 at World of Disney. Now, it's more likely less than $200 (closer to $100) for the whole trip. Kids have their own money, and usually spend about $100 each on "extra" snacks and souvenirs. HTH and have a great trip!

We are will be gone for 10 days including traveling. I have budgeted 150 a day for food for the 4 of us and 125 a day for spending. I know I won't be spending that each day. My big dollar shopping days will be at Epcot for my CooKoo clock and DTD. We will be bringing food down with us for breakfasts and lunch/snacks. Then we can get some goodies if wanted and each night we will have a nice sit down dinner.

We budget 200.00 per day. Whatever is left over for the day we add to the next days total. At the end of our stay I usually buy something very nice for both of us. :flower:

We usually count on $125 per day for food for the 4 of us. We take in a few snacks and we always take our own water! That is a big money saver! We just freeze it the night before. We do buy Mickey bars, of course!! My kids earn their spending money before the trip and we use our change jar $ for snacks and/or souvies. My dks are earning Mickey $ now for our upcoming trip and that is what they get to spend. We do buy each of them a shirt.

We (couple) spent an average of 56$ each day for food (before tip) and 1000$ for merch :cool1:

Ya'll sound just like us! We took our own water in last time and will this time and freeze it the night before. It makes a BIG difference in the budget in not having to buy extra drinks. We also buy our DD's a shirt and the rest of their spending money is what they have earned and saved from allowances (along with some money that grandparents always give them).

I was telling DH that we'll spend a little less this time because we still have the Mr. Potato Head pieces, our rain ponchos and the Magical Moments Trivia game for the parks that we bought last time. We really don't buy all that many souveniers. I do like to buy pins, but I give myself a limit on how many to buy. DH doesn't ever really want much. Last time he bought only a shirt and a hat.

Thanks everyone....I figured that I would buy a t-shirt for each of us from each of the parks plus DH one since he don't get to go. :sad2:

DS always gets $20 for each report card from each set of gparents so I'm thinking that I will let him have that for him some blow and go money, he likes to spend..... :confused3 Most of my money will probably be spent on pictures, gotta love pictures!!

I figure that we will not be buying too much, less stuff to store here at the house plus trying to get it home on the plane with just me and the boys. I'm afraid of getting it shipped home thru them, always scared I'll get home and they will have sent the wrong stuff!

Once again, thanks everyone!!!

Well, we've been a few times now, so we only usually buy a t-shirt for my Dh and myself. My boys save their allowance and birthday money and then my Dh and I add money to it to equal $80. We divide that by 8 days, and they each have $10 a day to spend. If they want to blow all $80 in one day, so be it, but that's it for the trip. They are 6 and 9, BTW, and know the rules quite well!

This does not include snacks or food...just souvies!

We just got back from our trip - Sunday afternoon thru Friday evening, then Friday night in a hotel outside Disney and came home Saturday afternoon. We took (for me, DH, 5yo DD and 4yo DS):

9 Q&C vouchers ($12 each)
1 VKL voucher ($32)
$200 in travelers checks
$35 in cash
$11 in quarters (for laundry and arcade games)
$42 in cash for the kids - this is money they saved for the trip

I came home with $5, so we spent $423 over 6 days on food, souveniers, and miscellaneous - that's $70.50 per day - but again my kids are little so they don't eat much. The travelers checks went for one stroller rental, Chef Mickey breakfast, misc. food (kid's lunch at Rainforest, one lunch at WDW, a few sodas, drinks after the Cirque, dinner our last night in town) and my souveniers - 3 postcards, 1 pair of fuzzy dice, and an antenna topper. The only thing I charged was the Neverland Club for the kids while we were at the Cirque, and we intended to charge that anyway.
I got the kid's t-shirts at the thrift before we left for our trip - $1 each. The kids bought their own ice creams and souveniers out of their spending money and were thrilled to be able to get an "Itsakadoozie" whenever they wanted, LOL.
I didn't do a budget for the trip, just tried to keep everything fun and affordable (and less than our tax refund which paid for the trip) and we all had a great time and hope to go back again before Christmas.

Thanks again you guys.

Got another ? since the last post....

What are Q&C Vouvhers and VKL vouchers?

Q & C are the "quick and casual" meal vouchers (for counter service)
VKL are the Vacation Kingdom Lunch meal vouchers (for nicer places)
