Spending one night in disney hotel- help, question

We are going to disneyworld in May. We already have our condo booked for 7 nights, I was thinking about coming out 1 day early to stay at disney resort for 1 night that way I could book FP+ early. I was reading that other people are doing this but now I'm confused because last night I called and spoke with someone from disney and they said I can't book fast passes for all the days I'm at the parks , only the one night I'm at the hotel. That would not work for us because I don't even plan to start going to the parks till 2 days after we get there.. I'm confused, what way is true?:
The person said the only thing I would get is the magic band that is pre loaded.. I don't want to spen 250 extra just for a magic band, I would want to use fast pass + early. We would not even be able to check in till 11pm and would have to check out at 10am the next day. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure this out.

Phone CMs give out incorrect information all the time. You really cannot trust anything they say.

Pretty sure that is the cost of the hotel room. The OP is saying all they would get for their money is a magic band.

As of October, you absolutely got FP+ access for the entire length of your ticket with a one-night stay. We booked a room for my SIL and her family at POP, and we linked her 8-day PH tickets with no problems. She was able to make FP+ reservations for the entire trip.


OP, do you have your tickets already? Since you aren't going until May, you have plenty of time to cancel the throwaway room. Book the room, link your tickets, and see what happens when you try to make FP+ reservations. My guess is that you'll have no issue.

You can make advance FP+ reservations as early as 60 days before your check-in date.

Booking of FP+ is done via your "MyDisneyExperience" folder on the www.disneyworld.com website.

At the moment, your plan will work, but a lot can happen between now and May. It is very likely Disney is going to close that loophole soon (I've heard rumblings, but nothing concrete). Book a room only and keep an ear out here closer to your date to see if it is still working the way you want it to.

It works as of now. We had 2 reservations since we added on a night at the last minute. Our tickets (5 days) were linked to our one night reservation and we were able to book FP+ for all 5 days. We got home yesterday.
